Stylistically I think Alvarado an easier fight for PAC then Rios...

I mean Alvarado cool, he earned his shot... but I'm bummed that Rios ain't in there because his granite chin, power, and agressiveness would have made it much more intesting to me...

Alvarado still has a shot but I feel like RIOS had a better shot stylistically considering PAC almost got killed last time out when he was laid out and was in heaven for a quick minute.

Also, I think Marquez cracked that chin and it won't recover, also PAC probably has some mental problems now and will probably lose his aggressiveness just how Juan DIAZ lost his after getting KTFO

    Alvarado would get f'd up..

but i think he wouldn't get f'd up as fast as Rios, because he'll be on the backfoot once his face gets busted up.. the lack of amateur experience will show..

Alvarado is definitely not an easier fight then Rios. Rios fights like a brawler with his feet stuck in the mud. Alvarado can box and move a bit , he's a tougher fight then Rios.

you guys do have a point, I've changed my mind then..

I agree Alvarado has more tools then Rios, not as one dimensional, and mother****er has a right hand like no other, if it lands, PAC going night night again specially if marquez weakened that chin at all... which he most likely did. Once it crack it ain't coming back :bbb

Movement gives PAC trouble, If Alvarado fights on the backfoot, boxing smart, he can make it interesting...

Im not bummed at the missed matchup of Rios vs Pac, because it might have been a little funner but the outcome would have been relatively the same. Ya, Rios brings a little more firepower, but at the expense of hes going to be in front of Pac literally the entire fight. Alvarado will at least show some movement and provide a little (little) difficulty in there for Pac.

Fighting Rios, at the end of the day, would have been simple work for Pac. Ya there would be blood guts and heart, but the end result would have been Rios getting his head chopped off. Alvarado, while certainly could get overwhelmed early, at least has some sort of skills to present a slightly different picture in there (slightly)

    It all equals out, imo.

What I feel for Rios is....

him and Alvarado are 1-1.... but Rios is the one that has the stoppage over him. Alvarado did a nice job coming back from some heavy Rios rounds early to earn a decision,

and instead of Rios getting his deserved tie breaker, its Alvarado that gets to fight Pac?

Reeks of Arum wanting Alvarado to be the one to get in there because he might be easier to hurt, is less aggressive and has less power.

Idk.... just seems like it to me.

So now, even though he does hold one stoppage win over Alv, and they are 1-1, its Alvarado that gets the shot.

Not saying Alvarado doesn't deserve the fight, but they should have put Rios in with PAC. It's a easier fight for Pacquiao plus he will look going against Rios. He fights one way move forward and bang, PAC would eat him alive with his movement. Plus both guys are coming off a loss so why not make it happen.

I feel the same way, but these guys kind of changed my mind... Rios has that granite chin, relentless pressure, but is one dimensional... so that's PACS MO for a good easy fight.

With Alvarado, he can give movement, box off the back foot, has a great chin too, so he can take some heat, endless stamina, intelligence, and a new trainer that actually gives good advice...

    Im sold.

    not PPV though

Upon reflection, Alvarado is more stylistically challenging for Pac and Rios would have gotten sparked coming forward, so it's probably better for all involved that he continue improving with a less dangerous fight.

It'll be funny if Alvarado troubles PAC

studies the JMM tapes, the new trainer gives him a great gameplan like he did for RIOS pt 2... lands that right hand a lot and to the body...

**** PAC might get laid out again...

Alexander would humiliate Pacquiao, you don't know that Paulie is a bum and Alexander is one of the best at 40
