Arum's corrupt judges are no proof. Sorry, try again. The truth is Abril fathered a ******ed child that day.
Your use of happy faces tells me the butthurt from that night is still alive and kicking. This content is protected
Your resorting to this tells me you are the one in need. :rofl Go ahead and check boxrec. Tell me what it says. :rofl
Lol. He couldn't do that shoulder roll very well. It failed repeatedly. Rios kept smashing him with the left hook in close quarters. I think Alvarado stayed in close range to bang with Rios simply because inside exchanges were the only moments where Rios actually might have been getting damaged. Rios was having some trouble negotiating the jab for the first few rounds, but he wasn't seriously hurt by it. Alvarado wasn't seriously damaging Rios from the outside, just bothering him. It just impeded him and delayed Rios closing the distance. Then he started spamming the overhand right over the jab and blasted Alvarado out of there. You need to be a very sound technical boxer/have superior hand and foot speed to beat Rios. You're never going to outslug him or get the best of him in a close-range brawl. Alvarado is one of those guys who can box and brawl, but unfortunately for him, he's not good enough at either of those things to hang with Brandon. Even if he tried to box more in a rematch, Rios still walks him down and knocks him out. Rios probably gets bigger, stronger, and more comfortable at 140 in the next fight too. I honestly think tonight represented Alvarado's best chance against Rios, and he couldn't get it done. Too bad for him.
Alvarado was not capable of maintaining the distance he wanted. Rios was relentless, and has some sort of Kassim Ouma titanium bull**** for a chin. Mike''s problem was Brandon Rios, not the fight plan.
When Ríos gets inside, tie him up. The rest of the time, box from the outside. He could have done it this time. I'm sure he won't make the same mistake if he ever gets a second chance.
I disagree there. The weak ass shoulder roll inside made him get pounded unnecessarily, and the excessive brawling was his demise. I guess he wanted to prove he could KO Ríos. When he did box from the outside, he did very well.
To be successful in tying somebody up or pushing them back, it helps if you're bigger and/or physically stronger than the other guy. At times tonight, Alvarado was able to push Rios away and then try to box and move precisely because he was bigger and probably stronger. Rios probably fills out to become bigger and stronger in the future, so Alvarado would have trouble pushing him off or tying him up. Rios' guard looked pretty sharp too; Alvarado was only damaging Rios in inside exchanges; the jab and right hand, Rios tanked from the outside even when they did get through the guard. The adjustments Alvarado would have to make would be to improve his inside defense. That's where any fight between the two would end up and be decided. He could outwork Rios there, but unless he learns to protect himself in close quarters better, Rios will break him down again next time.
