If enough revenue was generated that the promotion made money for everyone, it was a success. 350k not bad really for a card that should never have been a PPV card.
thats a solid performance IMO..... we have been spoiled by mayweather & pacquiao's insane output. I'm pretty sure cotto vs margarito only did like 500k at the max. Right now Canelo is on that Cotto level, once he gets a good foe to boost him into the next stratosphere he will be ok
ahhh what does that matter ? it was on local time here, its not like we had to go to asia to watch you meatball.. you think the site made it bring in less ppv's ? get a grip, paq is not a ppv drw any longer.. he always needed another A side opposite him to do any better than average ppv #'s. by this time next year it'll money #1 and nelo #2 in ppv #s
Here let me bump this for you my man, it appears the Floyd haters(*******s) wanna duck this irrefutable statement.
Not at all. Considering the undercard was poor and the main event was poor as well 350k is actually amazing. Pacquiao vs Rios made 475k and Marquez vs Bradley made 375k. I was expecting it to make 150k at best.
Why wouldn't they be? They paid the 2 main combatants a couple of MIll and the fight generated at least 10X that. NOt bad for a stay busy fight for Canelo and remember both fighters were coming off a loss. And for the record, those numbers are in line with my prediction.
Canelo is the future of boxing, even if you don't think he is amazing he is by far the biggest draw that is young and can get way bigger, Look at it this way how long before Mayweather or Pacquaio could draw 1m or over, Don't forget these numbers Floyd- Gatti 365k, Floyd Zab 374k, Baldomir 325k. Pacquiao Morales 350k Morales 2 355k, Morales 3 345k, Diaz 250k JMM 400k. Took them time to reach anything above 500k same with Canelo for a guy carrying his first ppv as the draw against a total non name above 350k is good numbers.
