Nope. Canelo landed the harder punches in at least 6 rounds, particularly early and throughout the second half of the fight.
Trout landed more punches. Controlled distance. Pushed Alvarez back into the ropes. I could go on and on. Just because you land a hard punch doesn't mean you win the round.
Actually, landing a hard punch takes precedence over everything else you mentioned. Trout was the aggressor, but was often ineffective with his aggression. Trout often controlled the distance, but control of distance is useless without meaningful offense. This isn't a contest of who looks more comfortable, it's who does the more quality offensive work. Canelo did that. Barely, but he did it.
- Most of them were jabs. - How exactly is getting hit with the same right hand controlling the distance. Even got kd for it. - Pushes him to the ropes and only to miss most of them.:-( - Big hits > Jabs. Canelo was the better fighter overall.:deal
Predicted canelo would win but was honestly pulling for trout. He showed heart & fight was closer then ppl give him credit for.It could've gone either way in my opinion or draw,kd was huge contributing factor(At least on my card don't know wtf the judges were watching especially that last one 118-109:huh.Had he not been knocked down I would've probably had trout winning by 7-5.
I had the slick Irish Mexican winning this fight 115-112. He honestly won this fight mayweather style. Some are saying trout dictated the pace but IMO it's not dictating if you're letting the opposition throw his jab and he's missing and you're countering. Canelo was more comfortable by far. The way Floyd makes guys miss and snipes with his right to the head is the way Saul made trout miss then sniped to his upper chest. Great chess match. Both guys are the # 1 & 2 guys at 154. Beautiful match. Canelo was slightly smarter and patient and WAY more powerful. Salute to Trout tho....2 superb and classy fighters. I'm a happy boxing fan.
Outboxed, Trout jabbed all night and Canelo head movement dodged most of it. Trout was incapable of landing anything that worried Canelo...Canelos punches were crisp and hard and he shook Trout continuously. It was a closer fight than the judges had it, but it was Canelos fight 115-112 What is it with some of you who automatically thinks throwing 100 jabs is equivalent to outboxing someone?Even when Trout backed Canelo uphe couldn't hit him with anything, Canelo dodged everything of note and the right hand landed hard on Trout, people know nothing about boxing...they see colour before punches obviously Even Trout admitted the better man won, how anyone here can call robbery when Trout himself said Canelo was the better fighter is beyond me! Blind hate runs deep on this forum
:deal You're complaining about bias for Alvarez but you seem just as biased for Trout. 9-3 for Trout is a bad scorecard
