Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (35-0, 26KOs) is preparing for a war against Matthew Hatton (41-4-2, 16KOs), the younger brother of Ricky Hatton. He says Golden Boy Promotions president Oscar De La Hoya This content is protected selected Hatton as the opponent. Alvarez wants to make it a real war to gain the support of the Mexican fans in California. The bout will happen on March 5 at the Honda Center This content is protected in Anaheim. ........................................................WAR CANELO!!!:bbb
I wonder how many rounds this 'war' is gonna last. Canelo outclasses M. Hatton for sure. Seems like the Hattons believe this is a winnable fight.
All Hatton needs to do to win is spar just 5 mins with Amir Khan to witness how the greats operate... job done, Alvarez out cold within 2.
Will this fight be at welterweight or a catchweight like at 150 since it seems Alvarez hasn't fought at 147 as of lately???
Isnt Hatton the Euro welterweight champ or something?? I would figure this fight will be at 147, since he has stated that he does want to fight and win a championship at 147. WAR CANELO!!!
Of course 'The Hattons' aren't going to say "yeah we fink Matty will get spanked in this fight because he int no Wicky Hatton" What do you expect them to say?
We should know by now being a champ in any weight divison doesn't neccesarly mean they will fight at that weight. Just curious since Alvarez hasn't fought at 147 for a while. If Jose Cotto climb two weight classes I wont be surprise if Hatton takes this fight at 150, esp since Alvarez is becoming a name and plus will perhaps be Mathews one of biggest paychecks.
I didn't say I was expecting anything else from them. I'm just 'ing. On an another note, James Kirkland could be fighting on the same night, but his fight wouldn't be televised... :bart
Well im sure he is being fed a can to get his confidence back so i would rather watch a more competitive fight on tv. Kirkland will be a great addition to the MW classes
