Please explain to me HOW Alvarez is more talented than a prime Hatton? I'd love to hear it.

He's more like a 154 lb heavyweight that stalks his opponents with bludgeoning combinations. Needs to work the body more though. He could have stopped Hatton for sure.

It seems to me that alot of dumbasses on here have the image of the Hatton that got KO'd by Pac forever in thier heads.

Hatton in 03-05 was a very talented, elite fighter... and was at a level that the Ginger will never see.

Alvarez is an exciting fighter but is very flawed. Poor footwork, no head movement and wide open for starters. I'd pick a number of guys at 154 to beat him Lara, Williams, Sergi Dz, Martinez, and Cintron. Good for him he's still young and can improve on his bad habits or he'll be a highlight reel KO waiting to happen.

Here's a clue Alvarez just won a REAL world title. Ricky spent 15 defences defending a belt based out of a cottage in Norwich. Ricky actually during his reign as WBU Chump "THOUGHT" he was a world champ.
Alvarez is only 20 years old with nearly 40 semi fights. At the same age Ricky was still kicking around the Area Level circuit.

WBU or WBC. I wouldn't expect you as a yank to understand. That bull**** was on SKY Sports during the late 90's 2000's under the auspices of "World Title Boxing". It wasn't even good enough to hold my trousers up. Where's the WBU now? Any ideas?

WTF?!?! This means nothing dude. And has NOTHING to do with being a yank, dick. You called Alvarez' belt a REAL world title. It was a vacant belt where he beat an unranked guy. THAT is the point of the post, Alvarez' belt, not Hatton's. Looks like it went over your head a tad. :D

Erm but that wasn't my point was it....But you knew that didn't you...

Are you actually implying that the significance of the WBC belt is now lost because the WBU has more credibility? REALLY?!?!?! Now thats funny!:lol:

The fact Hatton was unranked is immaterial. The fact the belt was vacant is immaterial. The point is the WBU HAS ZERO credibility. Hattons entire WBU career was a joke. But somehow 20 year old Canelo has even less credibility when he's won a REAL World Title? How many 20 years olds do you know that have won A WORLD TITLE belt?
