B#####Scene is saying that the Alvarez-Lopez fight did a little over 1 million viewers which is the highest viewership for a Showtime fight since they started tracking viewership. It passed Hopkins-Pascal's 2010 fight which was the most viewed.
good stuff....only would have made it better if they gave maidana the ko of the night...that fight with soto karass was an epic slugfest
Yeah, it seems like both the GBP and the Top Rank shows did good business despite going head to head.
They had a damn good card, and I'm glad people responded. I actually watched the first two of their fights live before I switched to the PPV card, then went back and watched them on the DVR. I also anticipate the PPV of around a million. This was a big weekend for boxing.
Doesnt suprise me one bit. That story line basically sold itself. You had the underdog that had beaten all the odds to get the shot at one of boxings most appealing champions. I never thought it would be a good fight but you cant deny how easy that storyline is to sell to the casual fans. Hell I remember watching the all access shows about the fight and thinking man Lopez has a shot here (but then my common sense kicked in and I realized we were talking about a 140lber vs a 154lber)
Thats actually really good, considering a lot of people I knew didnt get to watch the Canelo fight because they watched the Martinez one. Awesome news
There is no way Martinez/Chavez did 1mill.... but how I hope youre right! That would be amazingly awesome.
Says his fight with Cintron done better. But the gate for the Lopez fight done well but was less then JCC V Martinez
Wow, against the PPV? :think Good to know Mexican boxing fans have the sense to support real Aztec soldiers like Canelo, Lopez, Ponce, Santa Cruz, Soto Karass and Gonzalez rather than that clown Jr.
:rofl GTFO with that. Nobody is fooled by that fraud anymore. Anyone who bought or streamed the PPV did so to see the real star of the show, the lineal middleweight champ.
