Barrera was a world champion, and had beat kennedy mckinney in a fantastic fight. Morales was a world champion and had beaten daniel zaragoza and junior jones.

 

I'm glad its on the Floyd-Cotto undercard. I hate one fight cards. This already gives it some much needed depth. It also serves as a possible winner vs winner. Canelo vs Flody would be big. Cotto vs Canelo would be big too. Cotto vs Mosley could also sell. Not sure about Floyd vs Mosley II but you never know.

Wright-Quillin in the works

Sources are confirming that a verbal agreement in principle has been made for former world champion Ronald “Winky” Wright (51-5-1, 25 KOs) to face unbeaten world ranked Peter Quillin (26-0, 20 KOs) May 5th on the undercard of the Floyd Mayweather vs Miguel Cotto main event. The bout is to be fought near the middleweight weight limit and scheduled for 10 rounds. Wright who has not fought since 2009 is the one who sought out Quillin and is said to be in excellent shape currently weighing around 163 pounds.

It's weird how the objective these days seems to be to become ''world champion'' and then establish yourself.

Even in the early days of multiple titles, and to be honest right up until recently, fighters used to get a few names on their record and/or tough fights before looking for an opportunity.

 

He's 21 ffs, its a good match and a good name to have on your resume. He's got years left for big fights, and he has some good names on his resume for his age. Honestly, what do some people want? Sorry he can't be unifying titles and ****. And god, its not like Mosley's getting KO'd in ones and twos like Roy Jones, I'm sure he wants the fight too and it is an undercard fight anyway.

 

How does Shane still get these fights? It's beyond belief. Shane can't still be a draw, surely?

 

He shouldn't be going for titles if he doesn't want the pressure from fans for big fights.

 

It's annoying that an old man who basically quit the moment Pacquiao landed the first punch is getting this opportunity - and no doubt a nice wedge for his troubles.

Considering that there are younger, better fighters in the division it's a poor fight.

If you don't want to fight world class fighters, don't call yourself a world champion.

I love Mosley, but he's done. He's never been the same since Forrest chinned him back in 2002, these days he's trading on name value only.

 

This has to be the biggest fear.
