I agree. It's a legit fight. I don't doubt Canelo can make 152 with very little trouble. However, if for some reason Alvarez comes in above the agreed limit or above 154 (by choice or not), it would also make him look like a ***** regardless of how real the fight is and how it will be remembered.
You agree, then that Floyd looked like a ***** for what he did to Marquez? Canelo won't look like a *****, he'd look like a ****ing G. Give Fraud a taste of his own medicine.
smh ....cotto said he made weight just fine before and right after the pac fight. it wasn't till some time after that he admitted the he felt drained. so honestly no one can say anything as if canelo does not struggle or will struggle to make weight till after the fight is said and done. hypocrisy in the thread is sad.
I'm not going to discredit anything. The issue I have, is that your boy Floyd always takes the ****, and you stick up for him, and even go as far as to make a thread like this one. What do you expect Canelo to say? Of course he's going to say it won't be a problem. But the truth is, he won't know until he's done it. What do you mean I've no idea it will be hard for him? Of course it will be hard for him. 154 is hard for him. He does it every fight, but it's still hard. What do you think of Ellerbe's comments? "It would make no difference if he came in at 200 pounds?" Really? Well the catchweight isn't going to prevent him from rehydrating to around 20 pounds. So if they're not bothered what he's going to come in at, then why the catchweight? atsch Why didn't they just make the fight at 154? Nothing is ever straightforward with Floyd.
do you think it will bother canelo? so now you're taking ellerbe's opinion as gospel SMH at you clowns and your selective positions.
Nah I don't thin he struggles to make weight. The problem with him is that he cuts a **** load of weight. So he needs to control this and cut in a way where it wont affect him. Seems like Canelo has some weight issues. He's the type of dude that balloons in weight dramatically. Marquez spoke about this today. This is why he might have some stamina issues. Marquez thinks Canelo needs to be very careful and smart in the way he cuts weight so it wont affect him. He says that the last pounds will be tough. I spoke to a biddy of mine, who boxed (amateur) and he told me that trainer told him hat usually guys who balloon a lot like Canelo, tend to gas easier after 6 rounds. Canelo is going to need to have a perfect plan so this wont be an issue. The last time he struggled to make weight was 150 I believe. But I never heard 154.
It will bother him, but we've got to hope it won't bother him significantly. If you're convinced that it won't, then why wouldn't Floyd agree to 154? Canelo weighed in at 154 for Trout, and then rehydrated to about 170. He could even weigh more than that against Floyd. So what's the point? Floyd making him come in at 152, will not prevent that from happening. And if Ellerbe doesn't care what he rehydrates too, then there shouldn't have been a problem with 154. Canelo's trainer says that Richard Schaefer saved the day, because Floyd originally demanded the fight to be at a lower weight than 152. Now the only logical reason for that, would be to drain him. Floyd's a 154 belt holder, yet he was trying to take Canelo down to 147? Wake up man! Your boy's a joke!
because floyd has the pull that canelo doesnt. is it that hard to understand? if canelo was in floyd's position he could choose a smaller ring
*****s are the weasels of boxing. they have changed their stance on everything regarding floyd when it suits their idol. they have no backbone or code, their opinions mean **** because tomorrow they will argue the complete opposite. they never take responsibility for anything they have previously said and if they ever had the balls to admit they were wrong, their fellow weasels would turn on them. they are pretty much everything you hope your son doesnt turn out to be.
Canelo will make the weight fine. Christ how many legit 154 pound fights has the kid even had. Mosley? He weighed under vs Trout as well.
dont use belts when it suits you - they shouldn't be used, period, to bolster anyone's argument floyd fought beefed up welters at 154. canelo isnt how many times do i have to say it
I am not a fan of catch weights, but please we must stop using and comparing Cotto catch weight to Canelo. Is Floyd being an hypocrite, yes. Will Canelo be affected to make 152 as Cotto was to 145? A big damn NO. Only unbiased boxing fans will understand.
