Alvarez to fight ANOTHER WBC elimiator

Someone should knockout Stevenson and retire his ass.

Too much talent in the weight class for him to be trying to fight Monoghan, and now Fonfara. He should have took the Smith fight. But now he fights Smith's leftovers, that are also his own leftovers, doesn't make much sense. Berterbiev, Smith, Gvodzyk, Alvarez, etc. there are quality guys to fight. Why Fonfara?

 

Let's remember that Alvarez is accepting the step-aside money - he can say no.

All the same, **** Stevenson. We're getting a Fonfara rematch who didn't impress against Chad Dawson at all. Why not Smith Jr? Honestly, **** Stevenson. His career is pure aids. Hope Fonfara batters him

 

Feel kinda bad for Alvarez but it's his teams fault.

Alvarez is taking step aside money and will have made similar pay check to the Stevenson fight in both bute and pascal fight

I read somewhere in our local press that the amount was 2 MIL. Even 2 Mil would be crazy, cuz thats the money both Bute and Jean Pascal received when they fought eachother. And they both sell tickets.

How the hell does Haymon make contracts like these man? Because for damn sure its not GYM paying him that amount. They cant.

I also read that GYM/ Haymon tried to give him less money so he can stay more active but the pimp refused and said he wont accept anything less than whats its stipulated in his contract. I dont blame him, considering that he has a written agreement and he's fricking 40 yo.

Haymon shouldn't have handed this guy free money in the first place. To an old guy and that on top of that, can't sell much.

 

Why do you feel bad for Alvarez. He's taking a gamble. It worked against Bute and it might work again against Pascal.

No one can force him to do otherwise. WBC stated that Stevenson had to fight him until September. He could've just waited, but he will make the same amount vs Pascal that he's gonna make against Stevenson. Its gamble, and he has a bigger chance agaisnt Pascal than vs The Pimp.

 

Isn't Beterbiev with both GYM and Al Haymon? If so why have they not conspired to feed Stevenson to him and save themselves some dough with the bonus of being able to put the new champion in big fights?

I heard the Pimp was actually getting Pimped by GYM. That is why he signed with Haymon, it didn't change what he had already signed with GYM, but Haymon put more money in the pot, so Stevenson takes home a bit more now. Guys have to be caredul what they sign when it comes to contracts.

 

Would love to see Pascal vs Stevenson in the pros. Did Pascal not beat him as an amateur?
