And what if he wants to risk Canelo before taking on GGG?

It ain't a duck as long as he fights GGG, and I think if he wins against Canelo, he will. Too much money in Canelo fight not to go looking for it first.

a fight with ggg is high risk, low reward. the reason why cotto is ducking him for canelo

I don't consider it a "duck" because there is a 'better' option, financially, available. It's a duck if he stays at 160 and doesn't fight Golovkin though.

Canelo is high risk high reward. Hence why it wouldn't be a duck.

And how is GGG low reward? If he where to beat GGG it would be his biggest ever win.

it's not called ducking.... if you can make 5 x more money fighting someone else... it's called not being an idiot.

    5X MORE money?????:huh:huh:huh

You do realize Cotto would not get more than 50/50 against Canelo don't you????

If he fought GGG, he could EASILY demand 70/30, and GGG would GLADLY accept it, even at a CW of 155.:think

Still, it would be more money, probably a few mil more. Maybe 2X the $$$$. If he fought GGG on PPV he'd probably get 3-4 mil plus 70%, vs Canelo he'd probably get 5 mil plus 50%.

Which would do more buys???? Probably Canelo but NOT by some outrageous #s....maybe 100K more buys or something like that.:think

Except he isn't avoiding GGG. He'd be taking the bigger fight.

He'd still be taking on an excellent fight where he's the under dog.

If he won and didn't fight GGG, then that could be a duck.

Fact is, Canelo is the bigger fight.

Canelo is Mexican and very well known among the casual fans. It would do way more PPV buys.

    I agree.

Canelo is still a much bigger fight. Canelo would also be the favorite.
