Alvarez has no need to fight in NY tho. It makes no sense business wise either to be honest. (Only way they fight in NY would be because Alvarez wants to) ^Thats an A-Side move.
No need to wait. Canelo/Angulo did better than the much anticipated Cotto/Martinez. I'm pretty confident Canelo/Lara does at leas about the same. It would be simply silly and a waste of time to try and argue that Cotto is the bigger star.
Well Martinez never had a fanbase to begin with, and Cotto's stock wasnt great coming off a loss and a win over Delvin. His stock obviously rose from the Martinez fight again and Canelo's dropped with the Mayweather loss like it did with Cotto but come back up with wins over Angulo and Lara. Canelo-Lara was pretty well anticipated so we'll see how that does, Im guessing around 400k or so. If it does that he's def bigger star. Chavez-Martinez did around 450k but that was over a year ago, recently ppv numbers has taken a hit.
lol at this ***** trying to blame Martinez for the terrible ppv numbers that's on cotto he was supposed to be this huge draw this shows cotto is not as big of a draw as some people think.Martinez does have a fanbase Martinez vs chavez ppv did much better numbers than Martinez cotto.no cotto stock does not go up Martinez was completely shot I could have beaten that version of Sergio Martinez.

I think given those events, i think so. The two highest PPV fights involved Mexicans on a Mexican holiday. This fight will pit the #1 Mexican draw against Mexico's greatest rival.
It does. Mexico-Puerto Rico rivalty is big. Cotto is puerto rico's strongest and most popular fighter ever, while Canleo has a solid hype machine and the support of the Mexicans. This fight would be explosive. And a farce, of course, but still.
