when you have Aruguably the 3rd most popular boxer in Cotto, then the 4th in Canelo on a mexican holiday, I think they'll take there chance. ESPCIALLY when the fight will sell out quick as hell and they wont have to gurantee anybody 30= mil.

Most of Golden Boy's fighters are also Al Haymon's fighters - so I don't think a Mayweather PPV would have any problem filling out an undercard. I also don't think HBO would be dumb enough to air a fight on the same night as a Mayweather PPV...

 

1st - GoldenBoy has done every PPV for Mayweather since the DLH fight. even when Mayweather got butt hurt and said he wont do bussiness with Oscar anymore, Golden Boy handle all the PPV this last Septemeber. Ellebre did one thing and that was make the vazquez-Mickey bey fight..THATS IT!

Now Mayweather doesnt have him anymore and Oscar either because Oscar will put all effort into making a Fat card on a mexican holiday!

2nd- HBO wont be dumb, they will have the 3rd and 4th most popular boxers in the sport on a holiday with a slugfest/all lation Main event. thats more then enough to go against Mayweather. there not guranteed to pay anybody 30+ mil so SHOWTIME will be the one that will be reluctant to go against HBO because no matter what they have to pay Mayweather 32 million.

They will want to maxmize profits which he cant do with Cotto-Canleo on the same night.

Mayweather doesn't need GBP. Any promoter can promote his next fight.

HBO does't distribute PPV - that's what the cable/satellite companies are for. This is the reason why there will not be competing PPV events on the same night. If the cable and satellite companies are forced to choose, they will side with Mayweather/Showtime simply because Floyd has proven to sell more PPVs.

 

i really hope this would push Floyd to make a fight with Pac. just sayin :roll:

Most of Golden Boy's fighters are contracted on a fight-by-fight basis. However, most of Golden Boy's roster is signed to long term deals with Al Haymon. Mayweather doesn't need GBP to promote his next fight or stack the undercard because Mayweather is backed by Al Haymon. This is one of the reasons why Ole' Fishnets is getting all chummy with Bob Arum. Without Al Haymon, exactly who does GBP have? Saul Alvarez? At this point, I doubt that GBP could put on an HBO WCB worthy card *without* Al Haymon or Bob Arum...

 

What fights can they put on the under card that would make any Mayweather match up sell.
