Nobody can deny the sheer mass of his orange balls. The kid is one of the very few in today's boxing who still wants to fight the best. If the fight can be made, I'm convinced he'll do it.
I honestly believe it'll be at a catchweight. 157 or something dumb. I think he can make 154, but he doesn't like putting in the extra work. Seeing as his last 2 fights have been at 155, I'm guessing it's that last 1 lbs. he's struggling with the most. He probably needs to change his nutrition because I'm sure he works hard.
The Boxing Gods are blessing us with a grand gift. We need sacrifices to satisfy and please them. I nominate that Euro boxer who punched out the ref.
This is going to look like in the movies when two cars are heading straight towards each other. Someone has to move to the side or both his crushed. :deal
Cotto-Canelo is a fight that's been obvious for a while... …at least to me. Old Pro who still has the goods vs. Young Lion still untested in many ways. Hall-of-Famer vs. the anointed Future of the Sport. Puerto Rico vs. Mexico, always a fave. I wanted to see this fight before Cotto-Martinez but now it has even more cachet with the middleweight crown at stake (so what do I know about the timing of matchmaking?). I just want to see Miquel lay a few hard left hooks on Alvarez and back him up, then see what happens. I can’t recall Canelo ever getting buzzed with a really good shot from someone known as a puncher, and it isn’t because he’s a defensive genius. Kirkland could probably do that as well, but his chin is iffy and, due to his own inactivity, just isn’t the draw that Cotto is. Canelo-Kirkland is just another fight for the diehard. Cotto-Canelo is a BIG fight with appeal beyond the hardcore fan. And, in terms of “event” status, I think a Canelo-GGG match at this point falls into the Kirkland category.
You guys are idiots if you honestly think this fight will happen on Money's weekend. They know better than to try to compete. He always fights on this weekend and no one, especially these two, is going to outdo the PPV King. FACT!
Cotto vs Canelo on May 2nd will do over 1 million PPV. NO WAY Mayweather goes up against this fight. Looks like Floyd will be fighting in either April or June. If it's June that mean he won't fight in September. Mayweather is NO LONGER PPV KING.
HBO plans to put Golovkin on a week later, after the replay. So this will indeed prove interesting when Showtime schedules Mayweather's next date. I for one would love to see this coup take place. Mayweather's grip on the sport is not as iron as many have been programed to believe.
Leaning towards Nelo but I don't think it will be easy. Cotto will have been inactive for about a year by the time he is scheduled to fight Nelo.......that's not really something that will benefit a 34 year old Cotto. Nelo on the other hand will most likely have a fight in between now and May 2015.
