Alvarez is bigger, has the height and reach advantage, better power and is probably the better boxer of the two. I'd like to see the fight, but I can't see Cotto beating him.
Cotto is faster, the better boxer, and Canelo has never dealt with the kind of pressure Cotto brings to the table. The closest equivalent he has faced was Alfonso Gomez, who was tuning him up a bit prior to a fishy stoppage. Cotto takes it if the same one from the Rodriguez fight shows up.
Tough, tough fight. I give it 55/55 based on weight alone to Canelo. Id love to see this fight. Im sure itll be very close.
IDK. Obviously 'Nelo has the size advantage and he does have quick hands and decent punch placement, but I just ain't really sold on him. He's solid with a decent skillset, rugged (or at least very big for a JMW) but just...for me, not all that special. Cotto obviously is special but he's small for a JMW and perhaps has been in too many wars. The Rodriguez fight has not really told us for sure that he's back at his best, but if he were, I'd pick him over 'Nelo. Late stoppage or UD I'd say.
I would go with Canelo by SD. I really hope this fight gets made because it's the best fight for both.
Solid fight.I give edge to Alvarez but never do I count out Cotto. I still believe that Cotto will stay with Top Rank and will fight Martinez next, though.:good
