    Kovalev would destroy Alvarez.

For once, I was impressed by Alvarez. Yesterday, I saw a lot of what Jean Pascal does in the ring and it's not by accident, both were sparring together. That was a hell of an uppercut that dropped Liebenberg in the 6th!

That UC was landing from the 2nd rd.

Liebenberg threw defense out the window knowing he wasn't gonna outbox the faster handed Alvarez from the outside.

It was a great win for Alvarez, and shows he'd ready for the next level. I hope thew put him in with a Mack, Enzo, or Campillo type. A veteran who can adapt to Alvarez skills, and won't continue to fight in one way no matter how bad he's losing.

Ryno had no plan B.....whereas a Mack, Enzo, Campillo can switch to plan B or even C when plan A isn't winning rds. :think

I was thinking the same about Liebenberg, he had no plan B. He fought the same way for the whole fight. But, I prefer to look at what Alvarez did right compared to what he did before and he is heading in he right direction! He improved the way he moves in the ring, gives himself more angles, 2-3 punch combos and was no there anymore to get counter. Now...I've always said that Alvarez is a guy that you can bother mentally, really easy to distract and to play in his head. Let's see now how he will behave with a guy that has mutiple game plans. For sure, sparring with Pascal and Beterbiev makes you better and he probaly learned a lot from those experiences!

Montréal is now without a shadow of a doubt the meca at 175. There is a lot of different guys with differtent skills and habilities to spare with, guys which are (or are close to) elite. Bute, Pascal, Stevenson, Beterbiev and Alvarez form quite a quintet.

I watched about 10 minutes of Liebenberg before to see if he was any good after hearing a few people say he was one to keep an eye on and I was shocked at just how poor he looked. Last night's fight only confirmed that resoundingly. I've seen Alvarez a number of times and he's a pretty good prospect, but Lienbenberg is absolutely woeful. He's got a decent chin on him but other than that I saw nothing impressive at all. He was walking in recklessly and leaving himself wide open to that big right uppercut all night long. The opening for it couldn't have been any wider or easy to see if he'd wanted it to be.

I was back and forth, back and forth on doing a thread on Ryno in spite of the obviously fun name I could work with, he didn't show me very much, I wasn't very impressed by him and I was expecting him to be exposed by Alvarez and I was right.

He's a gutsy guy but I couldn't believe how poor he looked both last night and during the footage I'd seen of him before, which admittedly was very little.
