Alvarez vs Trout

this one is really difficult to call, Trout did something many didn't believe in my beating Cotto, and Canelo hasn't really been challenged at 154 yet... I'm praying for an instant classic

 

Im with you! This has all the makings to be a GREAT fight. I won't stay up to watch it but I'll sure watch it the day after.

Im acually going for Canelo as a winner. A comming out party for real for him.

I think Trout will win the majority of the rounds. Whether the judges will give him credit or not is the thing that I worry about, because he isn't stopping Alvarez, that's for sure.

 

Trout is a solid fighter with plenty of skill to give Canelo a competitive fight.

Trout doesn't sit on his punches, he is moving so much that when he throws he's already committing on moving. So I don't see him really stopping Canelo. However the possibility of Canelo stopping him is a greater chance, if Canelo is able to find trouts body early on. The ginger Mex does sit on his shot and fires them with conviction.

I think it will be a close fight with each fighter have some moments but the judging will favor the pressure and more aggressive fighter. Trout will not win a close fight, he has to be very dominant to get the nod.

I wish Trout the best and a fair fight, but I think Canelo UD12 will be the outcome.

 

After much consideration, I've come to the conclusion that Trout is just too slick for Canelo. He's too slick; his jab is too good and consistent, and his straight left hand is really good and quick. He moves too well, and Canelo will not be able to bully him like he has with his other opponents.

Day of the fight.
Still trying to think how this will go down. did not do so hot with last week's fight (Rigondeaux/Donaire). Trout does have a decided mobility advantage, but may surprise here with his own physicality and attempt to smother Canelo's left hand. I'm now thinking Trout wins this fight by close decision. I may be reading too much into this but feel Trout will be harder to hit by not allowing Canelo to be set when delivering those combos...That in combination with forcing Canelo backwards will give Trout the edge. However it is my understanding that there are two WBC officials and only one WBA official...so something might be brewing in Texas???
