Alvarez vs Trout

The thing about Canelo is, he hasn't been hit on a regular basis with stinging punches. He hasn't been frustrated for twelve rounds. He hasn't hit and been hit right back. It's not Trouts chin that's in question, but Canelos. Everybody knows Canelo can dish it out but can he take it and still maintain his composure.:bbb

 

Trout was active but he rarely landed solidly/cleanly because Canelo's defense was good and also because Trout was rarely willing to step into the proper range to land well. Hence, he hit air and gloves a lot. Canelo was much less active, and he too threw at wrong range quite often, and head-hunted a tad too much for my taste. That said, when he did move into the correct range he landed the much more solid, harder, effective blows.

I think Canelo loads up too much too often, which causes fatigue, which means his overall output is too paltry and he needs to take big breaks in between firing blows. If I was training him I would work with him on maintaining a more consistent output, which would require him not throwing so hard on every blow, working his gears more, and trying to move into range a bit more and stay there a tad longer, and just work some medium power shots and pick his moments to use his biggest power gear.

 

Trout was landing the left to the body cleanly all fight and jabs to the body, on top of that after the 8th he started landing triple lefts to the body and head regularly as well as the right hook off the jab, so everyone talking about Trout not landing is BS.

He outlanded Canelo in most rounds and over the course of the fight.
