Your being a little harsh on someone who made their paper view debut in front of the biggest televised event he's been on and got WOBBLED not knocked down then recovered and won the fight in a dominating fashion .
Cotto isn't a power puncher but you dont need power to throw a sweet clean punch and that's what it was ,where most prospects would have been on the canvas Canelo survived it So I think your thread suspect not Canelos chin .

I'm glad he got hit hard, some learning experience for the kid. He's 19, he took a perfect shot from a rugged veteran, then he recovered and came back to kick his opponent's ass.

I like this kid. He'll grow up.

he got hit with a flush left hook that wouldve rocked anyone's world, then he went on to beat the dog **** out of cotto eventuall stopping him in the 9th. you and rico dont seem to understand boxers are human too and at any time a clean punch can rock their world. even marvin hagler's been rocked and he had a stellar chin.

if he gets hit with a flush punch again that knocks him down then ill say he needs to improve his defense.

Every time there is a new prospect a new hater also arises. It was his first televised fight that I've seen of him and he looked pretty good for only being 19.

Give the kid a chance before starting to try and start making these threads.

That veteran was also a 135lbs fighter who should have never fought any higher than 140lbs. Kid has to improve if he wants to do good at 154-160lbs. Don't evn think about 147lbs. This kid will not be there for long. I would love to see him fight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in a year or so.

Just for some people information: Have you ever watch mexican TV shows other than boxing??? Have you seen mexican models and actresses?? But of course, that kind of mexican is not crossing the border illegally. They don't need to!!! Not all mexicans are aztecs or mayan indians!.

    u butthurt ????

jose cotto's last 4 fights have been at welterweight, so your argument is garbage......not to mention the fact that he would hardly ever even make 135 anyways.....and when he did, he would look like **** then blame it on the weight.....

    :rofl:rofl:rofl

I love how people think raising legitimate questions about a fighter's punch resistance is "hating." For the record, I've got nothing against this kid, I just think it should be pointed out now that maybe he doesn't have the greatest whiskers.

The jury is still out. It remains to be seen how his chin holds up as he moves up the ladder.

    And Irish.

Alvarez is definately on the run from Ireland under a new identity for some previous crime.
