Seems almost natural to put something in front of his name. Large seemed a bit less ugly than some of the other words sometimes associated with him. He's becoming like Madonna, Prince, and Bono in that he doesn't even need his last name for people to know who he is.
Totally agree. I know I've become a big fan of Alvarez due to him willing to face the best fight in and fight out. He's one of the biggest stars in boxing and is planning of fighting 3 times a year when the other stars go 1-2 times.
This is great news for everyone involved. Alvarez is guaranteed one fight a year on regular HBO that should get at least 2 million viewers. He gets an easy fight with Clottey/Rosado after facing a tough slate of oppositon the past year and a half. He'll probably get the May and September dates on PPV, with an extra bout thrown in between. Even if Alvarez loses a fight here or there he's always exciting and people will tune in win or lose. This BS with every fight on PPV has to stop. Even Pacquiao and DLH used to have fights on regular HBO early in their careers. This should help grow Alvarez's popularity immensely.
Yeah. "Respected columnist" was humorously en vogue for a while but seems to have run its course and been played out; I haven't seen it used in some time.
:thumbsup If even 2 of every 3 are top 5-10 rated, most definitely. There can even be an ooccasional X-Man Tolliver or Yuri Foreman in the mix now and then so long as the other two-thirds are top contenders.
Are you smoking crack? Alvarez Clottey is *NOT* a PPV worthy fight. Not even close. When was the last time Clottey fought on subscription network TV?
