This is inaccurate, Ruslan was forcing and taking the fight to him to such an extent that Bradley often had no choice but to stand his ground to try and fight him off. Even in the rounds where he was boxing, circling and moving trying to keep him at bay Provodnikov still managed to land solid and damaging punches repeatedly when he succeeded in closing the distance and getting inside on Bradley to land his own blows.

So taking his performance into account vs Marquez in how he would fare in a return bout against Prov is unrealistic for these reasons imo. Bradley may well avoid getting into prolonged exchanges if he fights a disciplined fight like he did in his most recent bout but the kind of pressure that a fighter like Ruslan brings into the ring means that he will always be forced to stand his ground and trade at some point when he closes the distance and gets within punching range.

Keeping a natural counter-puncher like Juan at bay is a lot easier to manage than against a pressure fighter with a seek and destroy mindset in the ring who is always looking to take your head off and hurt you. Combined with the fact Ruslan is a lot quicker on his feet than Rios is and can close the distance between himself and his opponents very effectively I think Alvarado is going to get hurt and probably stopped.

Those two fights against Rios probably took something out of him as well, and even in the Prescott fight which he ultimately won he took a lot of punishment in that fight before pulling out the win, that makes three fights in a row against hard punchers in which he took a significant amount of punishment, I don`t think he has much left in the punch resistance department as a result and Provodnikov is arguably the hardest hitting opponent he will have faced so far.

This is a bridge too far for Alvarado to cross safely in my opinion, try as he might to box and move like he did in the second Rios fight Ruslan is better at cutting off the ring than Rios is and punches harder as well, I would be very surprised to see him last the distance in this fight and I just hope he doesn`t get hurt and ruined after it although I suspect that will be the case.

    Ruslan by KO.

Can Mike block out the crowd and box:huh
Will he give in to the pressure and turn this into a slug, rock EM sock EM fight?:!:

Mike needs to be cool and box but I think the Russian will push the action:bbb and set a trap for Mike in front of his own crowd:shock:

If this turns ugly, which I don't think will take long, Mike can trade for a while but the Russian will bloody him up for a TKO:smoke

If Provo hurts and drops him he will win a TKO or tight points win IMO, if Alvarado stays on his feet i think he will win enough rounds on the scorecards to keep his title. This will be a war though. better than Garcia vs Lucas, better than JMM vs Bradley and much better than Floyd vs Canelo. And its not even on PPV. Gold Bless cable.

There are quite a few points in this fight that I just can't be certain but I'm leaning towards Provodnikov.

Did Provodnikov force Bradley into fighting his fight or did Bradley choose to fight that fight?

Is Provodnikov better than Rios? Does he have better footspeed? Better punching power?

Will the altitude make a difference to Provodnikov's performance?

Will being at home make Mike want to please the crowd and get drawn into a slugfest?

If Alvarado can keep his cool and box from the outside like he did for the 2nd Rios fight I think he might be able to outbox Provodnikov but I think that can only happen if Rios is actually better than Provodnikov and if Bradley chose to slug with Provodnikov thus making Provodnikov look a lot better than he really is.

But **** it I'm leaning Provodnikov but wouldn't be surprised one bit if Mike took a decision.

That is good news, JMM won an interim version, and them was given the full title and hasn't even defended it. The WBO should have a full champion its about time.

I'm going with Alvarado here. He's fighting at home and has the ability to box as well as brawl. Although I think he will use his jab move and box in this fight.

I'm going with Alvarado in this one, I think he's more skilled than Ruslan. If you factor in the fight is in Denver Colo. where Alvarado is obviously comfortable with the thin air, being that he's from there, Ruslan may have issues down the stretch if he doesn't get to Alvarado early. The outcome to me depends on which Alvarado shows up, because we know which Ruslan will. Alvarado by brutal late stoppage.

Really looking foward to this fight, don't like those 1 card HBO shows but atleast they are giving us a great fight.

It's a bit hard to pick a winner but I think I lean towards Alvarado here. Provodnikov has always been solid but I think the Bradley fight made him look a bit better than he is. Alvarado by decision.
