Khan gets stopped. How long he survives depends on how smart he fights. Khan will have the overwhelming foot speed advantage so he will give Canelo problems. However, he will come unstuck when he attacks. Kahn leaps in when attacking with his chin up and ofetn over balances and flails away. Canelo has great timing, better than Garcia, so i expect a similar situation to the Garcia fight. Khan attacks and has success. Canelo starts to time Khan's attacks. Khan doesn't cotton on due to his low ring IQ. Canelo connects and stops Khan. Another problem for Khan is that in his last fight he looked noticably slower. This could have just been because of a poor training camp or a bad day at the office. He is still relatively young so physically he shouldn't be diminishing this much this young. But, he has had a few tough fights, fights sparingly and isn't a gym rat, ala Mayweather or Hopkins. Add in the extra weight and Khan's best asset, his speed, may be significantly deteriorated by fight night.
Khan via UD.. The disparity in size and weight will shock a lot of people on fight night, Canelo will only be like 6lbs or 7lbs more than Khan.. Khan holds reach, hand speed, Foot speed over Canelo. Khan does have to fight a perfect fight, but he already knows this as he is the big under dog which he has NEVER been in his career.. When size becomes a non factor, there is only one winner over the distance, Khan..
If Algieri is walking you down and hurting you then Canelo will get you at some point over 12 rounds and seriously punish you. I just can't see Khan avoiding Canelo getting to him at some point, Khan will either tire or get dragged into a mini war. If you've seen my posts about Khan you'll know I'm not a fan but I try support all British fighters and I will supporting Khan and if he pulls this off I will be delighted for him. I just don't see a scenario where Khan wins, even if Khan does box perfectly do any of you think Khan is getting a decision against Canelo on Cinco de Mayo?
That's half the problem fighting guys like Algieri no disrespect Khan looked in bad shape for that fight, maybe the disappointment of not getting Floyd took his mental toll I don't know, But Khan looked off that night.. This 154 weight class might be Khan's real weight, I think Khan always been a weight behind and should of made his pro debut at 140 instead of 135.. anyway that's another story This the biggest fight of Khan's career, Canelo will find it hard to cut the ring off, and Khan as I said has to fight a perfect fight, I think Khan is going to do a number on Canelo and it will be clear cut and judges will have to give it to him..
Ironically with a box.. it's impossible to say which way is up.. only when there's gravity there's a down.. so you know the opposite is up..
Optimus, can I ask you for the billionth time to stop spamming threads with sheer drivel? Please? PLEASE? cheers. I think this goes to points and Alvarez wins.
Agree with your fight predictions but don't think Khan will fight Brook as the loss would destroy him.
I just think Canelos chopping shots will be too much for Khan otherwise id pick Khan by UD I dont rate Canelo but Cotto has serious issues taking his shot over a long period of time, every shot looked to stun Miguel.. If Cotto cant take em, Khan certainly Khant ;D
Canelo by brutal stoppage. I can't see Khan's chin being any better than Kirkland's. And he is smaller man than Kirkland. If he gets caught with a nasty counter hook like that, it's good night. And even if he doesn't, he will need to execute the perfect gameplan to look the aggresssor and avoid getting hit in the process. That's not really his strong suit. If Julio Diaz can catch him, repeatedly, Canelo will eventually. It's going to be difficult to recover physically and on the cards if he get knocked down a couple of times.
