I got Fitch again. I think he's the #2 fighter at 170 behind GSP. I like Fitch. That guy is a worker.
This should be a great fight to proove who is the real #1 contender. I think Alves can take him this time, all depends on his td defence which was good against kos. I don't think Fitch can smother Alves for 3 rounds.
Well what happens when Alves can be taken down? He gets controlled. Fitch is a grinder. Not exactly like GSP, but a grinder who's plan is to outwork his opponent. I can easily see Fitch coming in and possibly making Alves uncomfortable. Sure Alves can pull it off this time around with a big shot, but it's gonna be very difficult. Fitch has a good chin and can take what a fighter can dish out. He's very tough. I think a fighter like Fitch is the one that gives Alves the most problems. Either way though, it will be a good fight.
Get's controlled by who GSP? he controlls everybody. Fitch barely won his last fight and his face was a mess. Alves shold be able to land better shots. Fitch will be trying to tie Alves shoe laces all night.
It doesn't matter if it was GSP. GSP showed a bit of blueprint on how to beat Alves. His TDD is good but his wrestling sucks. His Jiu-jitsu sucks. If Fitch puts Alves on his back where he's not comfortable, Fitch wins. Sure Alves can land better shots than Fitch's last opponent, but if Alves is on his back he will be controlled. Sure GSP does that to everyone, GSP did it to Fitch also, but Fitch is a grinder like GSP, and tough, and can take a good shot, and he already fought Alves before. So he already has an idea what to expect.
I like Alves this time I think hes showed improved takedown defense and his striking is light years ahead of Fitch. I expected Alves to break if GSP kept pushing him but he didnt fade and just hung in there even though he was dominated. I think Alves will score a couple KDs but wind up with a decision win. Im pumped up for this bout though.
My thoughts are similar! I like Fitch, he's often underrated by "Casual" fans and he's an excellent fighter. But I believe that Alves will beat him this time. Thiago has improved dramatically since their first fight (As young fighters often do) and I believe that he wins this fight!!
yep, alves has improved alot since their first fight, not to mention has been taking his vitamins. fitch is a solid fighter but hasn't relly improved much he still grinds guys out. He might have the UFC record for most UD's, I can't remember the last time he finished a guy.
Very hard fight to call, great style matchup. Alves has made the bigger improvements, but not sure if it will be enough.
