There's a picture of Joe Louis and Sonny together, and you almost can't tell who is older. Sonny had huge lips, by the way. I'd never tell him that to his face, though. Might get knocked out.
I have been reviewing tons of Liston footage recently. And there are some moments where the cameras get really close to him, where you really see a clear picture of his face and the mustache And I swear there is not a fighter I have ever seen who is more intimidating than Sonny Liston Sometimes he looks like a Walrus with the power to snap people in half. Weird no?
Okay, so what's the deal? Nobody knows how old he really was. Some say he may have been ten years older than he claimed. Not unlike Charles Bronson in that respect. Just sayin. Michael Winner said Bronson had a million facelifts and his wife was worried about him doing his own stunts as a 95 year old man.... anyway, back to Sonny Liston....
