i always thought cotto could bounce back from the margo fight? i defended cotto at my gym against people who said he bitched out and quit. im puerto rican as well and ive seen him at a parade but not lucky enough to meet him yet. i always looked up to him and i think hes a positive role model even if he isnt as popular as tito was. so share your thoughts...
I am more of a Margo fan than Cotto fan but imo Cotto would have won a rematch even if it was 6 weeks later, and I've been saying that since July 2008
That doesn't sound like a nut hugger. But unfortunayely, you will be called a nut hugger from time to time.
Most people thought that is was a matter of Cotto fighting the wrong style... I agree to a point, however Cotto didnt seem to be tough enough to stand up to the pressure of Margo...then Cotto fans will say that WELL he beat Shane, but that was a different kind of fight, Shane did really pressure Cotto, and Cotto didnt stand right in front of the old Shane... I think that is reaching to think that Margo would change the outcome in a rematch with Margo, but now it looks as if we will never find out.
i mean Margo and Cotto could have fought an immediate rematch (just enough time for the physical wounds to heal) and I would have expected Cotto to win it. Kind of like Brewster against Wlad. The kind of fight where its like yea he won it but if they do it again he will get beat.
Oh, ok ok. But I disagree. When I found out that Cotto & his trainer weren't talking, I knew he was in for trouble, and I think the same would've happened if he & his uncle still weren't talking.
as far as the mosley fight i thought he just had a bad night. all fighters have them and as far as the loaded gloves go i think cotto is a real old school fighter in just taking the loss and wanting to get back in there and show the world how things should have happened. :deal
There is nothing similar between Cotto vs Margarito and Brewster vs Wlad. Brewster did lay a glove on Wlad until the end. Margarito on the other hand was landing on Cotto and was hurting him even from the beginning.
but it also seems that margo's slow start also had to do with not being able to get his pop going. in my opinion there were a couple flaws with cotto's fight. he ran too much, he didnt hold, and to me it looked like he wasnt able to go to the body like he normally is able to.
ahh well i guess i just look at cotto's skill and who he is. thats why he is such an old school guy who you never hear complain and looks like he just wants to even the score on someone who got the best of him. loaded gloves or not.
