Am i crazy for thinking Froch gets stopped relatively early against Kessler?

When i sit and compare their styles and how they will matchup, i cant help but see kessler countering froch all day. froch is an unorthodox power puncher with slow hands but makes up for it with good timing. kessler is a decent all around fighter. he has very good counter punching skills but id classify him more of a boxer-puncher with counter punching ability.

kessler also is the shorter more accurate puncher, and i think it will look very similar to kessler's fight with andrade, thing is i dont think froch has andrade's chin. froch's chin also seems to have deteriorated within his last three fights, because hes taken ALOT of shots, especially in his fights with pascal and taylor. im going with kessler by 5th or 6th round TKO. i think froch gets caught cold early on and will be taken out.

Also, i understand kessler didnt look good against ward, but ward was a Olympic gold medalist. and had alot of dimensions to his game, and fought a very perfect tactical fight, he smothered kessler's punches at the right time and everything. froch just doesnt have what ward and calzaghe had to neutralize kessler's offense. i love the Cobra, but hes in some trouble here and im no fan of kessler.

    Just my two cents fellas.

I think Froch has already achieved loads with the limited talent he has. I'm sure Kessler will bounce back against him and put his superior talent on display.

I see it going 12 cause Kessler will not risk himself for a KO after his last loss but Froch will get quite pummeled in the process..

good analysis, i also think kessler is going to stop froch, although i think it will happen in 8 or 9 rounds, not early, froch may not have the chin to get himself through the fight but i think he dose have the grit and determination to at least, go a few rounds.

Kessler doesn't stop anyone who's good early. His power is vastly overrated.

I dont think so. Froch is well capable of taking a lot of punishment and his awkward enough not to allow Kessler to land easily. There is always a chance of him walking onto a punch of course.

Its a pick em fight is this one but i don't see it ending early if there is a KO it will be around rnd 11 and id favour froch to KO Kessler

could happen, froch isnt much of a mover but in saying that kessler is also susceptible tot he right shot. io think its going to be a good fight.

How the **** ppl think peoples chin can "deteriorate" once theyve had to take a beating. You dont lose your tougness, if your tough you stay tough. e.g how marg has and gatti did his whole career. And even some if the old school like bugner and whepner.

Therefore Froch hasnt lost his chin. His chin is fundamental part of his game as his draws oponents in to a toe to toe battle and comes out on top. Having said that, I think fighting a danish god in his home town you have to knock him out to win on points. seriously guys, i think if froch doesnt knock him out he cant win and i dont know whether he can.

everyone is entitled to their opinion and you've given some sound reasoning so fair enough.

I however think Froch will win by either late round tko or UD. There's a lot of people (including myself) who though the answer to Froch's style would have been plain speed/elusiveness. We've seen though, that neither pascal/taylor/dirrell had what it takes to defeat Froch, even given how well off in the aforementioned they are (from a combined view at least).

I'm a big fan of Froch, and maybe I let this get in the way of my judgment slightly but I think he's very much underrated. His last wins are going to be giving him a huge psychological boost going in to this fight, and I think his confidence is very much genuine. He'll eat everything Kessler has to offer, perhaps be slightly behind coming into the latter rounds, but he'll have more than enough left in him to do what it takes to grab the win, be it by tko or points.

it's difficult to say, because kessler hadn't fought top opposition since calzaghe which was 2 years before the ward fight. kessler looked like **** against ward, and until he fights again we won't know if kessler has has gone down hill dramatically, was just rusty, or that ward is very good. i think it's a little bit of all those things.

i know ward and froch are completly different fighters but if he performs like that again i think froch will stop kessler late in the fight. he won't have to go looking for him that's for sure.

    Yes.

If Froch is anything it is comparatively durable.
