Bernard simply outworked Kelly on cold blooded and superior positioning, disciplined improvisational ability and punching skills themselves. Like Kelly said, it was more of a lesson based on the approach to the fight itself, get back to the drawing board and work on lateral movement, double jabbing to let that smashing right hand fly, not try to look too good... Bernard himself said that he's a very heavy handed puncher and that this fight will not mean anything to his future ( Cornerman Miguel Diaz also said it was one fight and not a Championship before the 12th)... Basically, it's all like it was before - Mayweather at that height and size can't really steal punching room and disable Kelly from getting off and that was what Kelly mentioned as the major trouble he had in this one. That's a fight Floyd can't win.

Very true, but you forgot to mention the part where Leonard does absolutely everything PBF does, only WAY better.

 

The size would be a lot to overcome...Floyd my do well in the begining but i think he'll feel the punches A LOT more down the stretch and eventually get caught....but you never know.

yeah, that's true. Mayweather has such great speed, footwork, defense and stamina that I still think he could outbox kelly, who has pretty slow handspeed, poor footwork and is a pretty one dimensional fighter.

Mayweather was noticably smaller than DLH at junior middleweight.

Remember how small DLH looked at middleweight?

Pavlik is no small middleweight, he's a big one.

There's a certain point where the size is too much to overcome.

 

Pavlik would knock Mayweather out cold early.
