    Hi there.

My name is Daniel Kemp, and I have decided to learn boxing.

I am going to be spending time with my ladyfriend.

Stuff that's easy to find in Canada can be hard to find where she lives, so I would like to buy my boxing stuff in Canada.

Here is my shopping list right now:

    - Boxing gloves
    - Mouth guard
    - Boxing shoes (wrestling shoes should be OK if I can't find boxing shoes that fit.)
    - Skipping rope
    - Helmet
    - Traditional wraps (Mexican wraps might cutoff circulation.)
    - Jockstrap and cup for the jockstrap

    Am I missing anything?

Get mexican wraps, they're better. Regular wraps can cut off the circulation too if you wrap them tight enough. Just practice a few times to figure out how to make it enough for protection/support but not too tight.

Where are you going? Do they have a boxing gym there or will you be training on your own or with a friend. If it's just with a friend you may want to get a pair of focus mitts so you can take turns holding and catching. You may want those even if you're going to be training at a gym because sometimes the trainers don't have time for everyone every day.

    Hi RightHooker.

Thanks for the tip on Mexican wraps. How long should they be?

My ladyfriend lives in Korea, so I will be going there. There should be a good boxing gym in/near Seoul.

I usually use 180" Mexican Wraps, which work out perfectly.. check out Rival Boxing.. local Canadian brand, and there stuff is pretty good.

Athough I would imagine you should be able to find boxing gear in Korea for a fraction of the cost., especially if ur friend lives near Seoul.

I would also buy a resistant cord for shadow boxing...I love mine and use it all the time. I also use one around my ankles to maintain resistance in the ring. I use it for everything except skipping rope. what I also use is a rope/thick enough string (clothing line), and tie it across the ring and practice dipping underneath and coming up with combinations.

How long are you going to be there?

If it's your first time training, the gym might not let you spar at all, so some of those protective gear won't be that much use to you.

Glitter tassels for your Boxing Boots so you can move fast.

You are going to be in Korea with a Korean girlfriend? They are going to be trying to knock your block off a that Boxing club. I hope you are training your butt off.

you probably wont need headgear, shoes, or a jockstrap straight up.

Korea isn't great for boxing gear, so I would advise bringing your stuff. Plenty of gyms around Seoul though, but you'll have to pay for a month up front.
