Am I missing something about Danny Garcia?

I got no problems with Danny Garcia. I think he's being put in real easy because he's Mayweathers big surprise. I think a name like Garcia can sell a lot of tickets on cinqo demayo weekend.

 

They were watching lesbian pr0n on their smartphone and not the fight apparently. :think

I am a fan of Danny Garcia, a real fan, not just saying that to proceed to bash him. His fight with Salka is a joke, there's no other way of putting it. But OP, you are right in your observation, Danny Garcia was never actually liked and he was always called "average" and "Does nothing particularly great". He has great timing, that's for sure, his defense is also not average. It doesn't matter if he beat Khan , Matthysse, Herrera(Yes, I thought Garcia won), Holt, Theopane(Yes, I thought DG beat him). He was never going to be liked. He can beat Pacquiao, Bradley, Marquez and will still be called "Lucky".

He is over-criticized, it is frustrating to see people hate on him now, as if they liked him to begin with.

But I repeat, the Salka fight is beyond a joke a fight and I admit I can't defend it, as a true fan of Garcia. It's just a "down" time to be a Garcia fan right now, but he did earn his RING title. He beat Khan and Matthysse the boogieman at 140, he EARNED his status.

 

Am I the only one who thinks Danny would still be a good scalp for Floyd?

I wouldnt say the only one, but it seems to be a pretty small club.

 

Garcia is hated by most because:

1) His father's big mouth.

2) He beat Lucas ( Everybodys favorite fighter )

3) Knocked Khan out ( Very popular fighter as well )



With that said he should have fought a a world class opponent his next fight.

 

Because DSG is a unified champion with lots of better options. He is still young and should be taking the biggest fights possible. Even a faded name would have been OK but a virtually unknown is unacceptable. I love watching DSG fight but this is not a fight that I want to see.

I live in the UK so have to stay up pretty much all night to watch fights in the US. I will not stay up for this one, I will get a good sleep instead.

 

The majority of boxing fans are chest beating morons who are insecure about their masculinity so gravitate to "tough guy" boxers, such as Matthysse or Maidana, rather than guys like Garcia who comes off as a bit soft.

Then you have the Khan fans who hate him for beating their truly overrated idol embarrassingly easily.

And of course there's his father.
