See.... That's doable..... Them 10 dudes would beat both "Demps & Marci" in my opinion...... :good Note: In truth, Liston was a horrible champion, but, he was a great overall fighter.... Regardless of his poor showing as a champ, I feel Liston could kick some serious ass in any era....... MR.BILL
Perhaps... But I like Johnson..... I watch James E. Jones in "The Great White Hope" all the time when I'm in the mood with a good buzz going on..... Hollywood needs to wake up and do a remake....... MR.BILL:yep
What movement? He only moves forward, no side to side, etc. Tell me which fight did he show great right hooks and jabs? You make it sound like Tua is a multi dimensional dynamic fighter.
Louis has no business being outside the top 2. Vitali isn't top 20, and either is his brother. Liston is too low at 14. Bowe isn't top 10. Patterson should be higher.
Liston too low at 14? Liston: Patterson x2, Folley, Williams x2, Machen, Harris......Wepner? Wlad: Chagaev, Peter, Byrd x2, Rahman, Marcer, Brewster, Iggy, Botha, Barrett, Schulz, Brock, Thompson, Austin(Some are debatable) Vitali: Sanders, Peter, Arreola, Johnson(Kirk), Williams, Gomez I'll probably get slated for the Liston one but he has fought some terrible opposition post-Ali.
you gotta admit though, Liston was a well rounded fighter. he's the only real text-book heavyweight. I think he would shatter wlad's shaky chin, and trouble vitali greatly. I'm not sure if he would beat him though. on another note, Im wondering how you guys are rating your lists..? are you basing it on acomplishments, or how he would do against other fighters? I based mine on a combination of the two.
Joe Louis in my eyes, is the number 2 ATG p4p...we all know who number 1 is, and he wasn't no heavyweight, which makes Louis the number 1 ATG heavy. Holmes ahead of Louis...yeah, you're out of line, alright.
Having never been knocked down. Never been behind on scorecards including his two losses due to injuries. Coming off a 1,400 day lay off and whupping the current HW Champ making him quit on his stool without injury forcing him to do so. Destroying Gomez and Arreola and dominating every rnd against KJ might have something to do with it :huh BTW: How's the weather in England today? :hi:
Marciano's undefeated 49 and 0 record is still the bar that has yet to be reached by any HW so I think you ranked him way too low. Should be in top 3 IMO. Archie Moore said Marciano was not a great boxer he was a hard puncher "Slam Bam I don't give a Damn" Give the Rock his due !!! My top 3 #1 Ali #2 Marciano #3 Foreman (His 2nd HW Championship at age 45 thru 48 was incredible yet he gets very little credit for it IMO)
:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl You are gonna get stormed by some here for putting Vitali above Holyfield and Tyson
So you have Marciano above Joe Louis? 1 Ali 2 Louis 3 Foreman 4 Lewis 5 Holmes 6 Frazier 7 Tyson 8 Marciano 9 Dempsey 10 Holyfield
I think Larry Holmes of 209 to 213 pounds fighting between 1978 thru 1983 against the likes of "Norton, Shavers, Ali, Berbick, L. Spinks, Snipes, Cooney, Cobb & Timmy Spoon" was a bigger, faster and a capable man of beating the Joe Louis of 197 to 204 pounds from 1937 to 1941 in a time machine........ WORD! Larry Holmes was / is GREAT!!! Of course Joey Louis is too......... Peace....... MR.BILL Note: I just happen to think that V.K. and Riddick Bowe (When he was fit) were / are some real bad-ass mothers in the ring who'd kick ass in any era stemming from 1887.......
