Mayweather ducked out at the perfect time for himself, was a very clever fighter. Had the shoulder roll down to an art and was great at setting a trap. Part of me thinks that he met a few fighter's at the right time. Take Canelo he was a long way off the level he's at now.

Sorry for going off topic but those two in there prime would of made an awesome watch

I don't think Porter would've beaten Floyd, but he would have given him a very tough night.

You have to be on crack to think that Thurman and Floyd have the same power

I'm not sure that Porter could put enough pressure to break Mayweather's defense. Aaron Pryor would have been a better choice, but I still don't think pressure is the way to cook Mayweather. I think SRL/RJJ type of style is better against FMJ's defense, even accounting for size disparity.

Not on as much crack as you obviously. Thurman's power is overrated. What did he do to a 40 year old? Pac was all over him like adobo on rice. Heck even Jeff Horn had more success. Who's the last legitimate fighter "one time" KOd? He's all talk. Floyd would whoop his ass.

Thurman better stick to the Garcia's and Porter's of boxing.

I agree that mayweather would school Thurman, but that doesn’t mean he hits as hard as him at all. Thurman’s had multiple hand and shoulder injuries that have affected his power. Even then pac said he’s one of the hardest punchers he’s ever faced. If you make a thread about how Thurman and Mayweather have equal power you would probably be called a moron by everyone on here.

Thurman's power is overrated and mainly self-promotion. When was his last KO, 2013 against Karass. Name one top fighter Thurman has KOd? YOU CANNOT! He was KOing tomato cans. By the way you talk, Thurman is the 2nd coming of GGG or Pacquiao.

Some already think I'm an idiot so I would not be surprised.

It’s kind of what happens when you fight top fighters, you can’t KO them unless you’re leagues above them or a HW.

Floyd is leagues above 99% of his competition and can land at will yet he still can’t get a KO past 140 (ortiz doesn’t count).

Thurman would have slept Connor for example.

On a p4p scale of power, it would look something like this:

    Paulie - 2/10
    Khan - 5/10
    Floyd/Bradley - 5/10
    Porter/Spence/normal WW jmm - 6/10
    Crawford/Cotto/Maidana - 7/10
    Thurman/DSG/Mathysse/Pac/Duran/Roids jmm - 8/10
    SRL/SRR/Cuevas/Tito 9/10
    Hearns 10/10

I could see him giving Mayweather some problems like Maidana he's rough, throws the overhand right which would arch over the shoulder roll and his unorthodox style would give such a technical boxer like Mayweather issues in reading what he will do. But Mayweather will do what he always does, adapt and figure out a way to overcome Porter's style and win a clear UD.

I’m a big fan of Sean, I respect his dedication, work ethic, and determination. I just think he’d be too crude at times and makes too many mistakes that Floyd would have capitalized on.

Floyd would struggle with Porter, not a good matchup for him. I still think Floyd would edge out a close decision but Porter would be a nightmare for Floyd.

I assume Floyd would handle Porter with precision, subtlety and sitting down on his strait counters, maybe even a flash knock down or two but, we’ll never know because Floyd didn’t like fighting fighters in their prime and /or without some sort of sizable advantage heading into the fight. Amazing talent that preferred to play from a stacked deck.

On an even playing field, prime for prime, my money would still be on Floyd but in reality my money would be on Floyd never taking that chance.

Of course you're right. It's easy to know who had the style to beeat Floyd: it's the guys he avoided. Antonio Margarito, Sergio Martinez, Paul Williams, prime Cotto, prime Pacquiao, Kostya Tsyu, Keith Thurman, Shawn Porter, etc.

Could? Agree. Would? Probably not. I could see Porter giving Floyd similar problems to those Maidana imposed, but enough to get the W? Most nights Floyd would figure it out. He was just too good. Too smart. Too fast. I could see Porter winning 1 of 5 or something.

    How about Porter vs Maidana?
