Mercer outlanded Evander as well but clearly lost. A lot of people have argued Evander deserved the nod in the second Lewis fight as well. So I'm sticking with official results.
Anyone who argues that Evander deserved the nod in either Lennox fight is a misery of a boxing judge But I thought Moorer quite clearly beat Evander the first time around. And Mercer did not outland Holy. :nono Holy outlanded Mercer by around 20 punches. Moorer outlanded Holy by more than 100.
Hmmm, I'd have to think about that. Interesting to think about where Lennox's post 2000s Tua/Tyson/Vitali/Rahman wins and Holy's pre 90s and post 2000s Rahman/Dokes/Thomas/Qawi(x2)/Tillman/Ocasio/De Leon wins fit in :think. I'll work on it and post it later :good
The second fight was close, and argument can be made Evander edged it. My mistake it was Bowe who outlanded Evander by over 100 in the rematch but lost. Holyfield Moorer was a controversial result rather you feel so or not.
Holyfield/Moorer was not a robbery though. You can feel it should have gone either way, I feel you would clearly be wrong. But it was in no way a robbery along the lines of Holy/Lennox I. Lennox clearly beat Holy both times. No rational argument can be made for Holy winning eithe fight. Lennox/Holy I: 10-2 or 9-3 Lennox/Holy II: 9-3 or 8-4, 7-5 if you are EXTREMELY biased towards Holy.
It boils down to what is a "robbery" to you and at what point should a robbery be counted as a win. And your opinion on Holyfield/Lewis II is not a fact. Can make a case for Rounds 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, and 12 going to Evander, and that is already a draw. The whole point of me not including Lewis/Holyfield I was to avoid such an argument.
Fair enough, mate. I've watched Holy/Lennox II many many times and have never once been able to find more than 4 Holy rounds. But you must acknowledge there is a big difference between Holy/Lennox I and Moorer/Holy I? One is usually near the top of the worst robberies in history and you are the first person I've actually heard call the other a robbery.
There's a difference between a disputed decision and a robbery. Floyd/Castillo I was a disputed decision. Whitaker/Ramirez was a robbery.
