Am I the only one here who thinks Gamboa/JuanMa will a pick 'em fight?

Not quite. It's just considered to be the natural progression for both fighters. One more stay busy fight for each and then a clash in the fall.

 

The two statements are separate.

Cotto could fight Lara as well.

However Gamboa vs JuanMa is the fight to spark the rivalry. 12 rounds of non-stop action. The statements got mixed up in the quotation process.

 

I would like to see that one but not right now!! Maybe in a few years so they can make a good payday

 

Really? Damn I didnt even know Gamboa or Lopez for that matter were THAT popular, with every promoter now wanting to build these mega fights I didnt think it would be happening anytime soon.

Would be a great fight very explosive! My only concern is what happens to the loser?

 

Popularity is a little hard to define. For small-ish fighters? They're very popular.

That said this is Top Rank we're talking about. Top Rank would probably try to build to JCC Jr vs John Duddy.

You could be right....however keep in mind that Gamboa visits the canvas on a frequent basis !

 

What I mean is promoters are more interested in building a BIG fight so they can make more money than giving us fans what we want.

So thats why I was suprised we talking about this as a potential fight to be made.

I'd like to see this fight this year would be great but I think it could well not appear until 3/4 fights time if Mr Arum has anything to do with it

nazeem hamed was very much the same.. like hamed so far he has always gotten up and taken care of buisness, lopez gamboa IMO will just be as big as pac-floyd
