great defense, overall speed, movement, timing..i'm looking forward to the stats of the fight.

Cotto is such an excellent boxer. His only downside is his chin but heck margarito is known to be a dangerous puncher, margarito took more shots than cotto did but a few solid punches from margarito did more damage than everything cotto threw at him..

I expect to see more from cotto in the future especially i want to see him learn how to clinch as i stated on another thread.

Nope I was still impressed, its just that eventually Margo forced his will on Cotto, no shame in losing anyway, its how you react to that loss that shows what type of man you are, Cotto will be back

Cotto did nothing wrong in the fight, he displayed a beutiful boxing ability. The difference was Margo's Chin, and Will. He made the few punches that landed count and take their toll.

How can you not tip your cap to Cotto and the way he fought tonight? But he did lose, which means that despite the punch stats and judges score cards (I had Cotto winning 6-4 going into the 11th, I have no idea what the judges thought), Margo deserves the lion share of the credit.

All that said, the real winners tonight are the boxing public who watched an epic fight that lived up to its billing.

yes, exactly..i can assume that perhaps team cotto thought they could hurt margarito as cotto is also known to have power but margarito's chin was just simply incredible pure grade A chin, he doesn't even look hurt taking so many clean punches to the head especially that hook from cotto which is proven to hurt fighters

Cotto put up a great fight. he was boxing brilliantly. He was simply too small to handle Margarito's constant pressure. Cotto wasn't out of shape - he was physically broken. Cotto's stock should certainly rise. he will come back stronger than ever.

Cotto fought the perfect fight. You just cant prepare for Margarito taking your shots the way he did.

I give Cotto plenty of credit. He did about everything I expected him to do. I was just gettting annoyed with the bull**** fight odds and the seeming consensus that there was no way Cotto could lose.

the only big difference in that fight was the chin. Both fighters have a lot of heart even cotto

The only questionmark here is Paul Williams. As far as I'm concerned nobody has the willpower at 147 to beat Cotto besides Margarito and possibly Williams.

I always knew he would have the heart.. hes done so much in his career already and by his personality I just knew he would have heart if he needed it in there.. but he was beaten not just physically but mentally.. with all the pressure Margo put on him starting from round 1 he was walking Cotto down..

Cotto showed great skills, but it would have been more impressive if he could have withstood the onslaught. He couldn't.

Major props for heart & courage to both, though.

Cotto can bounce back from this, but he may never be quite the same.

If it were a 6 rounder it would have been a masterpiece.

Everybody is...I mean when a guy who can poop like that and has that much skill and will you can't help but be impressed....****ing shame he ran into a guy who could hit like a mule and was made of steel.
