Margarito and Mayweather (throw Cotto in that one too)
    Trinidad and DLH
Pacman and all of the great mexicans of today?

Seems to me like most of the guys on here are fans of fighters rather than fans of the sport. If you hate a guy he can't do **** right and if you love a guy everything that he does is o.k. I rarely see anyone on here post objectivly and they seem to automatically hate on any fighter that threatens their guys legacy in any way.

I think you are confusing fanhood with loyalty or preference. I mean if I saw either of those guys in the street I would be delighted in going up to them and trying to talk to them. I would have good things to say about all of them. Also I enjoy watching them all fight (some more than others). That being said when they are fighting amongst themselves I will usually cheer for the Mexican for obvious reasons.

Well it's one thing to cheer for one guy over another. I do that too even when I am a fan of both guys. I am talking about something completly different.

Have you noticed how Floyd huggers refuse to acknowledge that he has ever done anything wrong? They say that the baldomir fight was exciting brilliant display, they automatically hate any fighter that threatens him or refuses to acknowledge that he is not god such as Margarito or Cotto.

On the other hand you have Floyd haters that act like he has never done anything worthwhile, like avoiding Margarito was not the sound business choice at the time, like fighting baldomir for the real welterweight title was somehow a bad thing.

I'm just using Floyd as an example but the same could be said of almost any fighter here. barely anyone is ever objective, they talk as either a fan boy or a hater.

Once upon a time I was a fan of Mayweather. I guess he restored some faith in me when he beat Ricky Hatton. But this nonsense about being 147 or 154 has to end. I don't dislike the guy, just his choices as a pro.

A guy like Margarito on the other hand has my respect. He has taken the hard road and done well for himself. That is just admirable any way you cut it.

There isn't any one boxer I really dislike, except maybe Vitali Klitschko and that is only because of his poor sport antics and the way he drags out fight dates to screw opponents.

You cant always cheer for both partys. I mean common now Cotto Vs Margarito was a great fight but you had to choose a side. There are some cases where I just dont care who wins I just want it to be a great fight but most of the time I have a favorite to win it. I think you are refering to respecting a fighter alot of posters here do disrespect fighters alot but sometimes they deserve it.

Style wise, I would prefer Mayweather generally. But I do like a good tear up.

I am not really a fan of either, but they are both good fighters.

I have respect for most fighters. I sometimes go into fights supporting one fighter and come out being a fan of both guys. Depends what sort of display the opponent puts on. I appreciate skilled boxers, counterpunchers and blood and guts warriors too.

If you say something bad about them when you think it applies then you are the exact opposite of the guys that I am criticising here.

I was rooting for Mayweather over Hatton. But, the way PBF has carefully managed his career, isn't far from Hatton when you think about it. Mayweather is light years better than Hatton talent wise, but when it comes to being careful, very similar to Hatton. I am not a fan of Mayweather like you. But, I am a big fan of Paulie. Why? The way he stood up against Cotto made me a fan. So much risk, and yet he still stood up and fought. I hope Paulie shocks england, and knocks Hatton out. Wouldn't that be something. The mexican fighters are true warriors. They have many losses on their records, but that's because they fight everyone, and aren't afraid of doing it! Pac is a great story. I'm not the biggest Pac fan, but I still like watching him fight.
