Am I the only one that thinks Alvarez vs Lara is a mega fight?

Lara schooled Trout unlike Canelo who barely beat him. Also Lara made Angulo TO QUIT, which is something difficult to do if u ask me ! :yep

Styles make fights and Lara is a better boxer than Canelo and he has good power too. The only big issue that Lara has is his chin.

Funny before Canelo signed to fight Lara, it was lara is the bogey man, everyone ducking lara.

As soon as Canelo signed to fight him. I pick Canelo, Lara isn't really that good, Angulo nearly beat him.

Talk about hypocrites on this forum.

The winner of this fight will receive a huge boast and that may set them up to participate in a future mega-fight.

Alvarez probably brings in a lot of the younger crowd and females so he can fight just about anyone and still sell the arena out and get 300k+ PPV buys, so respect to him and his team for staying true to the sport this time and going up against a top ranked fighter but no this is not a mega fight.

Lara is not nearly as big of a star to justify calling it a mega fight, calling it one could mean the sport is slightly watered down at the moment. Like someone else said, for boxing heads this is a great match but will it be remembered down the road or generate massive interest outside of boxing forum readers? Probably not.

It will however add to the building legacy of whoever wins this fight and lead to a future mega fight depending on how things play out. You never know.

    A lot changed very quickly.

When Angulo/Lara happened (I expected Lara to dominate) it kind of made this less interesting. Then Alvarez smashed Angulo in a big way, so there's really no way to pick Lara any more. Yes styles make fights, but Alvarez has taken on Trout and Floyd in recent times, and if Angulo was getting to Lara then you know Alvarez will.

Lara is clearly #3 in the division. Alvarez is clearly #2. Mayweather is clearly #1. This fight won't change that. 154 is pretty much sorted out and it's about time for Alvarez to move to 160 where the action is.

That said, this is still a good fight that has to happen. It's just that the result is pretty much a foregone conclusion right now so it isn't as exciting as before.

Why you guys keep ommitting what transpire behind the scene in the Lara-perro fight? perro catch up to Lara because the ring was smaller than my kitchen and the mat was made out of sand, on top of that Lara was aked not to go up more than 10 pounds at the second weight in while perro didn't got the memo, he was 175 only God knows how he really weight when he step up in the ring, the only thing perro needed to do to find Lara was turn around, and it look to me like he was on some energy drink because he never stop throwing bombs... If ginger can get to Lara he will pay for that just like perro did, ginger doesn't hit as hard as perro.

Undefeated Canelo vs Undefeated Trout was more of a "mega fight"

Youre wasting your breath. Guys that have never been in a ring dont pay attention to that stuff. A quick look at the ring size Lara had vs what Canelo had tells you all you need to know. People that cant understand it are too f*cking dumb to waste your time on.
