im not so sure.. mayweather cotto did 1.5 i expected 1.8 ppv buys are hard to come by and altho i think mayweather is stronger on ppv than pacman.. i don't know if it's by all that much.. pacman cotto did 1.25 while mayweather cotto does 1.5 mayweather and pacman are both bigger stars today than they were 2 1/2 years ago when the pacman cotto fight took place... a part of me just wants to see pacman cotto just to see what the buys would be to gauge real buying power. to be honest, if i was pacman's dude, i wouldn't have done the deal either... so as ****ed up as bob arum is, he's not a dumb business man b/c that'd be a dumb business decision. mayweather deserves 90 million for this fight, while pacman deserves 70.
hmmm...try to stay on task. May and Manny will never fight. This is about May and Canelo. I think 2 mil ppv buys is realistic.
ha you're right but no.. i don't think 2 million buys is realistic. no fight of mayweather's will get 2 million until he fights pacman not canelo or even a bigger drawer than him like khan
I don't know. All that has to happen is that the Mexicans get gassed and believe that Canelo will win.
If Mayweather stays undefeated, beats Martinez at middleweight or Pacquiao at welterweight, while Alvarez stays undefeated and beats Kirkland and then Cotto in barnburner HBO fights, and if they set it up for Cinco de Mayo weekend in 2013 and Mayweather says it will be his last fight regardless of the outcome, then yes, Mayweather-Canelo could do over 2 million buys. More likely, the scenario I outlined doesn't happen, but the fight still happens anyway and does 1.7 or 1.8 million PPV buys.
If they get the Mexican fight fans to believe that their new young superstar will be the one to send Mayweather out with an L. That story line would go hard. All of the inner prejudice would come out and people would be compelled to order it.
