Am I the only one who didn't really enjoy Floyd-Cotto?

I disagree, I actually found it entertaining myself.

Manny vs floyd could be entertaining if it's competetive. and if floyd fights with a tactic of trying to walk manny down like he often does against southpaws. Then it will be definetly entertaining. Andy i;d see it being a FOTY type with both fighters getting rocked.

Although floyd also has the potential to turn it into a snooze fest, fight off the back foot, time mannys movements and win every round in a boring uneventful fight. Similar to how he handled marquez but tagging him a lot less often.

I agree with you on the highlighted and disagree with you on the non-highlighted.

Imo, from the very first round Mayweather dug in and just bounced round house rights around Cotto's face guard simply because he could.

A fighter of Mayweather's pedigree chooses who he fights really aggressive against.

Mayweather knew Cotto was an attacker and not a very good counterpuncher, which is why he took the play away from Cotto and attacked aggressivelly with hard shots as well.

I found it interesting what JMM said about Mayweather-Cotto when posed the question why Cotto had more success in touching up Mayweather than he did.

Marquez' answer was that Cotto lined himself and timed his jab really well, but more importantly Mayweather was aggressive against Cotto and was'nt against him.
Marquez went on to say that the few times Mayweather was really aggressive against him, he scored with counters and Mayweather backed off.

Simply stated, Mayweather knows who he's up against and calculates what he can get away with.

IMO it was a decent fight, nothing great but not boring - a little better than average.

Its not fight ill be re-watching over and over again though either.

Mayweather will fight Pacquiao aggressively simply because he knows Pacquiao cant counter worth ****.
He'll pick his spots of course, but I'd expect Mayweather to fight with the intent to hurt Pacquiao knowing he's not a great counterpuncher.

Btw, I found the fight to be very entertaining.

Anytime you have a strong good skilled fighter like Cotto fighting a non-survival fight and fighting to win against a supremely skilled technician like Mayweather, it makes for a very entertaining fight to me.

The fact that Mayweather stood right in front of Cotto and threw punches with real intentions made it the more fun to watch for me.

I personally believe manny is better against fighters that come forward than fighters that fight of the back foot.

Any comeforward fighter have been destoyed. Wants they start retreating he looks inaffective, especially at these weights where manny is the smaaler guy so can't bully, and also because he cant close distance very well.

I think Floyd knows this and thats his delemma against pa. Yes floyd is alot better going forward against southpaws than he is fighting on the backfoot. However Manny is also better when fighters come to him than when he has to chase them down.

there's a differance between being a fan of someone because you like there fighting style. To being a **** and unable to have a rational conversational if it involves your favourite fighter because you get al upset if someone even suggests floyd lost a round, or lost a fight or would lose in a H2H matchup.

i sopport pac cos i prefer him as a fighter, and i'd cheer for him to win. But i'm still able to have a rational conversation, and i still admit that floyd would be his toughest fight.

You are unable to do this, and you believe a fighter that had the toughest fight of his career against miguel cotto would be ably to win every round against a fighter on a completely differant level to cotto in Pac, who also has some stylistic advantage that floyd will struggle with.

    It was a good fight.

With that said i probably will never watch it again.

I usually only watch a Floyd fight once.

The only Mayweather fight i've watched several times is the N'dou fight.

Even though the opponent wasnt much the fight itself was very entertaining.

what point are you trying to make.

Manny is better than both of those fighters too.
