I saw De Leon as the aggressor coming forward landing his left to the head and body. The punch totals were very similar through 6 rounds then in the 7th Gamboa took it clear and was taking the 8th clear I feel cut or no cut Gamboa was on the way to a win but I think this one was much closer I think you could argue a case for De Leon in the 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 6th not saying he won all those rounds but round 1 he blocked most and landed a decent amount in the third which i thought was the closest round his left hands were very effective in the 5th and 6th he pushed the action and troubled Gamboa Im not saying de leon won or anything but it wasnt a shut out or 6-1 Gamboa looked really out of his element when somebody knew how to time him and didnt just wilt under the speed and attack he had a guy who knew how to protect himself and showed guts
Leon won round 1 and that's it. Gamboa was in cruise control. It's just a case of not taking any risk against a puncher like De leon.Ponce's power is overrated he couldn't put down or STOP Penalosa.Gamboa took those shots well and then some.It was clear as the fight progress it was one sided in favor of the Cuban sensation.
de leon became the agressor in round 6 or 5 i cant remember but gamboa dominated. its a 6 against 2 for gamboa
Close rounds but I gave the rounds to the guy landing crisper shots. I gave PDL the first round and that was it.
I like Ponce De Leon a lot but only gave him the 1st. There were a couple more that were fairly close, though. Gamboa always just did a little bit more.
