Am I the only one who thinks 160K PPV buys is good?

PPV is way too expensive ! why not make it 20 usd so everyone can buy it....

...Who aren't well known to casual fans. Given that there were two combat PPV's earlier in the month, it wasn't that bad.

 

I did. I thought that the build up and marquee of the PPV 'Pound 4 Pound' would have been a seller, since this was only the 3rd time two undefeated P4P top 10 fighters squared off in history, and first time since De La Hoya-Trinidad. But I think since they priced the PPV way too high, that was what pushed away certain fans who might have been on the fence about ordering it to begin with, IMO.

 

Well 150k is often considered good for Golovkin so why not lol

 

Problem is your average fan doesn't know this.

 

In this context, no, it's terrible. When GGG made 150k, many users on this board were boasting about Ward will make not less than 500k in his debut.

 

And that was another thing. Too many PPVS to choose from was another problem that hurt the Ward-Kovalev PPV buyrate.

I mean, marginal publicity, saturated market, and mediocre undercard with a main event that featured two guys without huge fan bases isn't a formula that results in a lot of buys. A rematch would probably do more, based on the way the fight went down.

 

Pretty much this. I thought people were silly to slate the Golovkin Lemieux numbers too.

Not many sell like Mayweather/Pac or further down like Cotto/Canelo can.
