Crazy ain't it? I worry about this Gary Lockett, just for the reason it's looked at like it should be "easy" by everybody.

 

Don't worry about anything regarding Pavlik unless he fights Abraham or the SMW lot of fighters. Those MW's are ****ing terrible, Abraham is not even that great, just has some strength's that play against Pavlik, the rest of them are going to get bulldozed, including Lockett.

Then when Pavlik is steps up to 168, he won't even be a fringe contender.:good

 

I wouldn't put a lot of stock into Gomez's performance against Arturo Gatti, because Gatti was a shot fighter. Don't forget he was rattled and KO'd even more brutally in his previous outing against Carlos Baldomir. Torres and Corley both fought Cotto at a time in his career when he was most vulnerable due to weight drain. Since moving up, Cotto has faced fighters like Judah, Mosley, and Quintana, who I say not only hit significantly harder than Gomez, but are far more skilled.

I don't think Cotto can knock Gomez out at all. Maybe with a body shot but I don't think he will.

 

I was giving Gomez a good chance at first but more I thought about it, the more it made sense. Gomez is pudgy and is probably a natural WW anyways, and on weigh in, they will weigh the same. Besides, with that class difference, 10lb wont make a difference. Cotto TKO 8.

 

Gomez does have a good right hand. I think him and Margarito would be a better and more winnable fight then Cotto. Cotto has too many options to his game.

Why do people still mention the fact that Corley and Torres rocked Cotto at 140?

People said the same thing saying Mosley hits much harder than those guys ect but yet didn't have Cotto on the verge of being stopped or severely hurt. Shows how much more durable he is at 147

Anyway, I've seen quite a few people that think Gomez will win, or at least pose problems for Cotto. Can't say that I agree though. Cotto TKO8
