I don't think Cotto will lose this fight. I see Cotto being able to out box him and out slug him throughout the fight. I'll go with Cotto by Late stoppage.

How so? Who has he beaten or what has he done that gives him the biggest chance at handing Gayfeather a loss?

You are not the only one who smells upset.

Of course there's a possibility of the upset, especially because of the size, punch output and toughness of Gomez. Little chance but more than zero... Cotto better get prepared.

No you're not the only one . . . but I guess you are very few. :D

Cotto keeps getting stronger and improving in each and everyfight . . . I just don't think Gomez can give Cotto a harder fight than what Shane Mosley did. :yep

I was thinking that Gomez may be a little more difficult to hit than I initially thought but then I realized that I was using the Gatti fight as too much of a measuring stick. Gatti was getting desperate and was just winging hooks left and right so Gomez saw everything coming. I'm just gonna say this. The sooner Gomez gets knocked out the better cuz Cotto will ruin him if the fight goes the distance. He will just ruin him.

Oh yeah, Jermz, I would say that you're the only one giving Gomez a chance.

I won't say impossible. Because everything is possible in boxing. But I don't think so. First, Gatti was a great fighter in the sense that he had great wars that kept people standing by their seats. But he NEVER was a great boxer. A B class boxer at best. But he made interesting fights.
Cotto was rocked by Torres at 140# but he has looked a lot stroger at 147. Plus, remember Cotto won by KO. And Torres went on to become a champion. And Torres has a 93% knockout rate. NO matter who the opponents were, that is an awesome KO rate. Gomes KO rate is 44% and most of his opponents were not that good either.

I think Gomez give him all his money worth. To put my thoughts into perspective if I had 200 dollars to spend (which I don't) I would take those 9 to 1 odds.
