2 volume punchers who win with fast hands & are clueless when they face guys that can deal with it. Both can not fight on the inside. They are nearly identical except one is black
Some similarities, yes. Both are definitely lacking in ring intelligence as well as fundamentals and technical skills. They tend to throw ineffective flurries rather than educated combinations too and are more-or-less one-dimensional.
Khan might be prone to throwing flashy but ineffective flurries but he doesn't pull his punches nearly as much as Alexander. Of course the one advantage Devon has is possibly the best uppercut in all of boxing today
Khan has better punching form, doesn't slap as much. Alexander throws combinations at range while moving, whereas Khan pops in and out to blitz his opponent, rarely throwing in retreat. Khan has slightly better upper body movement, but they're both too stiff. They both throw in predictable rhythms, but Khan's are much jerkier and harder to time because of their speed, while Alexander's are always in pattern with the same space between them and nothing particularly explosive about them. Khan works behind a stiff jab, whereas Alexander only uses it to set up other punches. Alexander bounces in place, whereas khan shifts from place to place erratically and without rhythm. They both share the flaws of being vulnerable going backwards and having a lack of an inside game, but I'd never call them identical fighters.
Khan's fortunate to be truly stand-out in the footspeed and handspeed department. Without them, he'd be ****ed. Alexander's not as quick on his feet and has to rely more on a technical defense. The problem for him is that he doesn't have much of a technical defense or quality defensive maneuvers. Khan uses his feet to keep himself safe an awful lot.
