Am I the only one who thinks they should just legalize PEDs ?

If the fighter has any negative side affects due to consumption of drugs that's their fault. Most athletes probably use illegal enhancers and have been doing so for a few decades, since the 80s at least.

They should just take down the PED ban. An even playing field never existed. Some are smarter, more athletic, more durable, simply more gifted than others when it comes to fighting, even when you break down the styles of each person. Plus, everyone can get knocked out with the right shot.

This is really just prohibition all over again. It doesn't stop drug cheats, they can mask their activities

No, I agree with you. Personally I think FAR too much is made out of this.

They wouldn't need to worry about retirement funds. Most would be dead well before their time.

I think they should have PEDs and non-PEDs leagues.

I still think that we should be celebrating clean athletes. Why make guys who abide by the rules and who don't want to inject that bull**** into themselves play against a stacked deck?

By legalising PED's you are basically forcing clean athletes to take risks with their health in order to stay competitive. That just isn't right.

The basic argument against (and not an unreasonable one) is that once you allow it for those who want to do it, you leave those who'd rather fight clean being compelled to taking them to avoid a handicap...
Especially in boxing where giving someone a free advantage that lets them dominate could leave you permanently handicapped.

So what happens if you legalize PEDs is you get fighters taking more and more - and other fighters taking more and more to keep up.

It's the same thing with weightbullying - the rules are there to try and mitigate against the risks of going into the ring dehydrated (from making weight), but they allow for massive draining and rehydration that gives fighters an advantage... And compels opponents to do the same.

There's a fine line between legal and illegal performance enhancement... You could draw it in loads of places and loads of ways - but you have to draw it somewhere, IMHO.

The problem is: if all PEDs are legal, you just know that there will be psychos out there taking noxious cocktails that will do them long term damage just to win their next fight. Soon guys will have to choose "do I take the Terminator 5000 brew and risk cancer, brain damage and anal leakage ... or do I get beaten down by Joe Bloggs who is using the Terminator 5000 cocktail?"

So yeah, keep PEDs out of it.

    Exactly.

I don't care that much if guys wreck themselves with stupidity.

But making everyone else have to be wreckless to avoid being dangerously disadvantaged? There's the line.

If that happened, we'd be seeing boxers die every week. Allowing peds in boxing is like playing American football without a helmet.

I don't think so but when you have the biggest stars and draws in the sport and faces of boxing for their respective generations and eras like Clenelo jousting PEDs in his ass

And his predecessor Floyd so obviously doing the same what with the catalogue of red flags surrounding him and PED abuse:

Getting caught using an illegal IV to flush them out of his system

His dead giveaway abnormally low testosterone-to-epitestosterone ratios before two fights

His ''surrogate daddy'' Don Hale owning like 20 + TRT clinics

A whole bunch of TMT fighters popping dirty etc.

And the current WBC HW champion Tyson ''Belly' Fury who is arguably the second biggest star in the sport and one of the very highest paid jousting boar meat nandrolone juice in his ass

What kind of message does that send out to their fans and young generation of fighters who idolise them and who aspire to be just like them?

Yes, what's the point of having weight divisions which are supposed to protect fighters and make it safer and fairer for them when we have massive weight bullies beating up on fighters they're much heavier and much naturally bigger than?

And why the hell are we now having 36 hour weigh ins as opposed to the standard 24? That just affords the weight bullies a whopping 12 additional hours to blow up way bigger than they could before

If PEDs can make you stronger and punch harder what the hell do you think a huge weight and size advantage can do when you're fighting opponents much naturally smaller and lighter than you and this is completely legal and common

Having boxed myself for about 10 years in the past. I've noticed a huge difference in PED users I have sparred. Their power goes through the roof and feels different.

Even my cousin who's never boxed was like a proper ***** and got juice for 8 weeks and suddenly had some weight on his punches.
