The Mike McCallum vs Jullian Jackson fight was stopped prematurely.
In my opinion I felt it was. What are y'all thoughts?

He was being systematically dismantled, if it wasn't stopped at that point, it was only a short matter of time.

The stoppage did seem premature. Jackson was back up, and it was early in the fight.

Yes, actually, and I'm in agreement that JJ was "systematically dismantled",...however in big time boxing, there has been more latitude given to a fighter, especially in an important fight, as this one was, to go out on his shield, so to speak. JJ wasn't given that option, and given that he had that rare, one punch power that could instantly equalize things, denying him that option just wasn't right.

In the long run, it was the best thing that could have happened to Jackson.

He wasn't going to get "lucky" and land a haymaker and turn the fight with one big shot, like he did later against Graham.

It was a learning experience for Jackson and the stoppage saved him from excesive punishment.

If the fight went on many rounds with McCallum beating him up, it might have shortened Jackson's career in the long run.

As it was, Jackson went on and had a great career.
