The 40 year old tarver does not have enough stamina. He has the punch. The Tarver of a few years ago could knock his ass out possibly. Tarver has a big punch and is pretty quick at pulling the trigger with that left hand.

I think B-Hop said it best: "[Tarver's] only good the 2nd time around"

Hopkins dominated Tarver in their last outing, just brutalized him; Joe
made Hopkins his ***** last Saturday, had him cowering along the ropes and
in the corners and faking low blows to catch his wind. Do the math.

Tarver won't get past Dawson, bar another eyes closed miracle KO.

Everybody has got a puncher's chance. But seeing that this fight will never happen, Tarver's got no chance.

tarver has a chance to beat calzaghe.

    but IMO by ko only.

i think tarver stands up to straight/to stiff/no head movement and slow feet to beat calzaghe and i beleive that calzaghe would look good against him, but its all speculation, we never know for sure.

but for whatever reason when calzaghe fights taller /stand up straight fighters , he virtually always punches straighter/more correctly and delivers his shots much better and his feet/hand eye cordination and speed get him in and out at will.

Oh, not only will Tarver get past Dawson, he will KO him.

Tarver was rejuvenated in the Woods fight. He looked so much better than he had in previous fights. When you look at Dawson/Tarver, the one thing that sticks out is Dawson's edge in hand speed which will leave one to think that Dawson can outbox Tarver. But if you watch the Tarver/Woods fight, you will see that Tarver's hand speed along with his foot speed was improved to the point where it will give Dawson enough problems. Tarver's going to land that straight left eventually. He's too accurate with it and Dawson does not have enough of a defense to avoid it for 12 rounds. And then, it's over for china chin Dawson.

Calzaghe would win by default, as Tarver would collapse through exhaustion. If Woods (on his worst ever night) had Tarver blowing, God knows what Calzaghe would do!
