He seemed to just be loading up on one shot the whole fight. Anyone who watches Mayorga fight should know that combination punches always do him in. But for some reason Shane seemed to want to take him out with one shot. He also clinched more than i've seen in the past. I thought he looked to be really fatigued early in the fight. Is it just me?

He looked pretty bad, but Mayorga was huge and VERY unorthodox.

No .......... I saw the same thing but I think it was just the awkwardness and power that had him like that. He didnt want what happened to Forrest to happen to him.

Mosley looked shitty in the Cotto fight. Some of us have been saying that for a very long goddamn time. Perhaps now people can see what we were talking about.

With Mosely's speed and quickness diminishing, his lack of a good solid jab is the ingredient that is missing.......Mosley could get away without a good jab before because of his blinding handspeed and quickness.....but Saturday night against Mayorga that lack of a jab stuck out like a sore thumb.Mosely was clipped with more of those wild shots by Mayorga than Felix Trinidad and DLH put together......both Trinidad and DLH established that jab vs Mayorga to keep him at distance, and then sent power his way while Mayorga was at distance.Mosely for most of his career has just used that jab as a range finder, but very rarely as a weapon......the results against Mayorga were Mosely looking awkward and uncoordinated for good portions of the fight.Imo however, Mosely looked poor in the early going. Got into a rhythm and started timing Mayorga pretty well in the midrounds, and then Mayorga just turned it into a wrestling hugfest in the late rounds.Props to Mosely however for outlasting a bigger man who was leaning on him, and putting him away with pure fury in the last round!

You saw a different fight than I did.Mosely looked very good vs Cotto, enough imo to have him up on my scorecard.

Mosley definitly needs to get out before he gets hurt because his movement was horrible from how he was a few fights ago.

Pretty much everyone has said that Shane looked shitty until the last 30 seconds.

Mosley fought pretty well against Cotto IMO. I expected Cotto to beat him much easier than he did.

He's shown his decline though, for awhile.

He looked terrible, he essentially tried to brawl with Mayorga and had a disgraceful workrate.

We have different eyes, and different familiarity with Shane Mosley then. Very good? Is that a joke? Just because you had Mosley winning that fight doesn't mean he looked good, it means he still has the kind of basic strengths to hang with a fighter on Cotto's level. Cotto was seemingly quicker than Mosley, better timed, and the superior boxer - and that's not because he's any of those things in actuality. Mosley looked ****ing terrible for Shane Mosley. Shane is a much better fighter than he showed in that fight. Much. The writing can be all over the wall, and people still don't see it..

Mosley looked bad for him. He is getting up there in age and should think about quiting.

Mayorga I always thought was shot as **** but he surprised me in that he was faster and had more endurance than usual.

I think Mosley should retire. The reason being is that there is no way he would beat any of the top guys Margo, Paul williams, Cotto or even DLH again.

Also consider he doesnt need the money, he is ****ing loaded and in business with promoting GBP so he has even more income lined up for when he retires from the ring.

I think that fighting further he will just gather losses to the likes of Margo and PW. If he retires now, it is good for his legacy to go out on a win like that. That was a good fight and story tale 2.59 of round 12 KO win. That is the kind of win everyone wants to go out on.

I think u guys are a little to harsh, dlh an tito are much bigger men than mosley, thats why setting the jab up is much easier, when ssm moved up in weight fighting bigger men he got used to sacrificing the jab. styles make fights an ssm jab wasnt long enough to catch mayorga all night but he did pick up the pace in the latter rds an looked good mid to late rds w/ a unorthodox fighter much bigger than him, mind you so is dlh and tito. I also think people dont give mayorga credit? he fought vargas well an was very determined to beat ssm who is much smaller..mayorga fought very smart rough fight!!

Nah, Mosley fought very much the way he did against Mayorga in the Cotto fight, but he was up and down, up and down. There were flashes of solid work by Shane in the Cotto fight, but he was extremely inconsistent. Cotto and Mayorga are not the same fighter, their respective styles revealed different things about Shane. Like I said, I've been talking about this for a long time. I wasn't the least bit suprised by what I saw on Saturday, I saw it back in November of 2007 when Mosley fought Cotto. I've been saying it, literally. If you're saying you didn't see it, you didn't see it, literally. I did.
