...that would actually be intrigued by a fight between Mayweather and Khan? I mean, of course its no Pac May, but Khan is probably every bit as fast as Mayweather, has the height and reach advantage, has one of the best jabs in boxing, and has learned to hide that fragile chin well with his defense. This fight I feel would really push Floyd, as he'd have to find a way to get around that fast jab, and box with a pretty good boxer. Plus, Khan's chin wouldn't be as much of an issue against PBF because Floyd isn't the biggest power puncher, and doesn't usually look for a KO. I mean, I think Floyd wins this no doubt, but it would be interesting to see how he'd deal with Khan, and would give insight into how good he really is. I know Khan gets a lot of hate on this forum, and is still rather young, but I feel if Mayweather could pull the kind of shutout he has against other opponents, with Khan, he would get a hell of a lot more respect in my book.
It might be interesting, but it'd be a hell of a lot more interesting if Khan were more experienced and had beaten a top welterweight instead of no welterweights. I have my doubts he gets past Maidana, honestly. And Floyd stopped Hatton, who didn't have a suspect chin, I think he beats Khan by knockout, but I would find it interesting to watch too.
Id love to see this fight. unlike everyone else, Id even slightly favour khan to win due to a terrific style match up for him. Doubt floyd will be able to read khan due to his speed, and khan wont ever quit and get disheartened/frustrated. If they fight, floyd will get no bad talks from me, id even be impressed that he took the challenge.
Good point about the weight difference, I thought about this, but Khan being tall as he is, I don't think putting on a few more pounds would affect him much. As for Floyd stopping Hatton, Ricky kind of asks for it lunging in with his chin up and hands down, I don't see Amir doing anything like that. I like how Nicky's avatar is owning this thread.
Are you trying to suggest Hatton doesn't have a terrific defense? You *******! No, I get that. And I wouldn't think much of Khan putting on weight in and of itself, because he's a bigassed light welterweight (don't even know how he made lightweight, really) but Floyd has become quite a strong filled out welterweight over the years. He looked and conducted himself like he was the stronger man throughout most of the Mosley fight to me and Mosley is a very strong welter, imo. I would just be more interested if I knew Khan was formidable at welterweight with a guy who, while not an elite WW puncher, has both a respectable punch and the precision to make it count. We need somebody else with an SNV avatar to come in here. That would put this thread over the top.
Good points BE, to be honest, nothing on Khan's resume spells that he can hang with Floyd, WW or LWW. Malignaggi, Salita and Kotelnik aren't exactly world beaters, although that Kotelnik shutout has been looking good recently. It's simply the stylistic matchup that intrigues me so much here. And, is there any other poster with the raw boxing knowledge to have a SNV avatar on ESB?
Boggle, but his affinity for Hagler and Neon Leon is really quite powerful. I wish he'd "find" a Hagler/SNV or Leon/SNV picture somewhere and use that. It would help ward off evil. I don't like seeing him unprotected from evil like this.
:think Yeah, I guess the spirit is there. But I fear that the evil/general ****tards on here would be incapable of sensing that spirit. Man, this thread has gotten philosophical. See, every time Niko has been channeled, we get intellectualism.
Terrible fight for the under experienced Khan. Like him or hate him Mayweather would notch up a very easy win here against the come forward fighter. Khan is still unproven, especially at welter and I just don't understand anyone with a rational, working brain thinking this would be anywhere near competitive.
It's only if Khan manages to get past the top 140 pounders and has gain more experienced, that people are discussing this potential match-up. But even then, I think Floyd would have a relatively easy night once he's figured him out. And if Khan's chin is as awful as we know/think it is, Floyd's precision punches would easily have him on the canvas 2/3 times before the referee intervenes.
You lost me here. See how good who really is? You talking about how good khan really is or mayweather?
