Am I the only one....

Heavyweights arent exciting anymore (especially to the american viewers) because your heavyweights are fat, bloated and lack the speed and technical skill to be competitive. i mean come on, look at "Fa(s)t" Eddie Chambers. Kevin "Kingping" Johnson, Chris Arreola. their the best you have and all of them got whooped by the Klitshcko's

Britains answer to the heavyweight seen is Harrison, Fury, Chisora and Price.
Tbh Audley knocking out Sprott is the worst thing to happen to the heavyweight scene cos then we could at least have seen Sprott-Haye which would have been at least a little more exciting than the 3 punch fight we got spoon fed by sky.

Furys name brings more excitement than he does but he did improve after the controversial fight with Mcdermott whose proven to be a Great domestic level fighter and now the Chisora fight will answer the question if britain has any chance of reviving the Heavyweight division and price is too inactive

Also the champions are to blame :

Wladimirs Jab, Paw, Grab isnt exactly exciting compared to Ali/Tyson style of fighting

David Haye has the skills to be exciting but the quality of competition isnt up to standard

Vitali is getting on in age and his competition is the best out of anyones but still its mostly Fat guys

All being said in the next 5-10 years the heavyweight division should improve with the likes of Robert Helenius. We get more Heavies like him along with maybe Huck, Adamek and a few other good names from the cruiser division then maybe it will get better but its just a guess for the time being

 

ali did quite a bit of holding....against frazier anyway. tyson didn't. bowe didn't. holyfield sure as hell did. punch, punch, hold, wait on the ref, punch, punch, hold, repeat...

 

Probaby they never got over the bigger boys taking their milk money at school.

 

Ali made up with it in other fights though and Holyfield has always been over rated to me. he beat up on an old Foreman who proved he had more power than him when he sparked Moorer (Jammiest punch in boxing!) Headbutted a damaged Tyson, Robbed Lewis of a win in the first fight and continues to delude himself thinking he can still win a world title.

Dont get me wrong im not against American boxers, Ali is an all time great, Tysons style of fighting was purely methodic, Floyds defense is a masterpiece and the likes of Jones, Hopkins, Mclellan, Whitaker etc are why i love the sport but Holyfield is grossly over rated

 

These heavyweight ***** threads are always the same crap, over and over. However I must say the poster above us who claimed the division will get better with Marco Huck was a new one. atsch

 

i won't argue with what he's accomplished. but his style above cruiserweight was never fun to watch for me. and i always felt he got a pass for the headbutts.... judah and golota are the only people i've seen with more visibly deliberate butts than holyfield and i can not once recall holyfield being penalized for it. am i wrong?

 

Not saying Huck would be a great heavyweight but compared to the fat blobs were accustomed to seeing which ones would you prefer

 

Holyfield isn't on those guys level with regards to skill but what makes him just as great and greater than some of those mentioned is his will to win and heart of a champ. One of, if not THE biggest warrior of all time....He beat fighters he had no business beating cause he was a beast and was willing to die in the ring doing whatever it took to get the W. His intagible heart is what makes him great. He beat a prime Bowe who would be trouble for anyone ever. Holyfield has more balls than anyone. :deal

I love the heavyweights. We've got Wlad-Haye coming up in one month, Vitali-Adamek not too long after- there aren't many divisions in boxing which have four top 4 fighters signed to fight each other at the moment. Chambers-Thompson is a good fight on paper to find out who the best US heavyweight is. **** knows what Povetkin is doing, but I'm sure I heard Povetkin-Chagaev could happen as a WBA eliminator. That's the 5th and 6th best heavyweights with a possibility of fighting. Helenius is fighting his way into the picture with brutal stoppage wins. Fury-Chisora is an decent domestic fight. Arreola is getting into much better shape and fighting very regularly

To hell with the critics. It's a good division :bbb

 

Cruiserweight division is more exciting to me... but...

Both Tony Thompson and Mo Harris were ranked in the IBF.... i was suppose to be a tourney between Eddie Chambers, Dimitrenko, Mormeck and I think Rossy... We'll see how this division pans out by the end of the year...

Grandfather Thompson finds ways to win and knock people out

Stiverne looks like a promising beast... He fights Ray Austin next...

Malik Scott, been dealing with injuries for a while, hopefully the bicep is good to go...

Travis Walker is trying to make a comeback in his career...

Helenius.... could be fighting for a world title by early next year...

Nah I'll always love boxing. Gotta back it up through the good times and the bad. I didn't even do that with my ex boxing is the ****. Even though it may seem **** at times, it's still the ****.

I agree. I tend not to watch anything above super middleweight often. Of course, every so often something special comes along that's worth watching, like Roy at Light Heavyweight. I'll probably watch Wlad and Haye too out of morbid curiousity.. But yeah, heavyweight boxing in general is painful to watch these days.
