Not impressed, or at least not carried away.
Aj was wobbled, and took a round and a half to recover.
Yes he stayed on his feet - but let's be honest, that's against whyte - who is a prospect, nothing more. Let's be real.. If he needs a full round (3) to recover from round 2 then he is nowhere near ready for world class.

I could name 8-10 fighters who would of capitalised on that & had him out of there... Including the other HW on the bill, Del Boy..! Hearns advisors will recognise this & avoid him being exposed - just like David price..!

You're not alone mate. Joshua had NO JAB whatsoever despite his substantial size advantage over Whyte. NO LATERAL HEAD MOVEMENT whatsoever. His legs were gone in the second round, Whyte was just too slow and reckless to fully capitalise.

Haye takes him out very quickly even if he's just 75% of the boxer he used to be at HW.

Totally agreed. I was getting frustrated with the lads I was watching with, saying how he would walk through fury, cos he beat whyte.... But who exactly is whyte? Whose he fought of note? Know what I mean.. One prospect stops another & he's ready for world honours? Erm yeh ok, well that's Sam eggington ready for world honours too then I suppose

Wilder would've ended him in the 2nd round.

    +1,

His lack of Jab was shocking to say the least and whilst I wouldn't class Whyte as a good technical boxer his jab was much better than Joshua's.

It's the first real fight I've watched of Joshua's as I don't have sky sports and am not willing to pay ppv, but I must say he's a good prospect but he isn't top 10 yet.

Nice to come here and read these opinions.

Been on Twitter and I thought Joshua was the second coming of Tyson, was thinking to myself have I just watched the same fight as these people?

He took some good shots and didn't go down. That was impressive to me.

You could say he took too long to recover or you could say he did well to stay on his feet and recover at all.

Totally depends on how you look at it.

We'll see how he does at world level when he steps up and fights there.

I think the reason people are digging AJ out is because lots on here are talking like AJ is ready to out Fury, Klitschko and the rest right now.

The hype needs to be toned down, there is a lot to like and get excited about but there is also a lot for AJ to work on.

I think there are quite a few heavyweights that would give AJ real problems right now on the evidence of last night.

That's assuming Wilder himself wouldn't have been ended in the 1st round.

Wilder has better footwork and has a better ring iq and defence than Whyte and wouldn't find himself in that position.

Lesser fighters have come through joshua's barrage of punches and some were prematurely stopped on their feet via british stoppage, i.e sprott whatever his name is.

Wilder would ruin this version of Joshua until he learns to move around better on his feet.

This whole post is probably true but to the bolded bit I will say that Fury was a massive underdog against Klitschko, had never fought anyone near that level and didn't seem to be ready for him either but look what happened there. Anything can happen in boxing especially when a guy has power like Joshua.

Wilder has also been tagged by guys who were not world beaters. If Joshua tags him...

    So has Joshua, your point?

Both are different fighters to who they once were.

They've both come through along the journey, improved and learnt how to deal with shots better.

To be fair to him he has always he has a lot to learn and I thought last night was good rounds on the bank for him, whilst learning a few things about himself along the way.

Fury fought firtha around the same stage and look at the improvements he made, do t think anyone would have predicted him to achieve waft he did at that stage.
